I know an elderly gentleman who was assigned to the JFK White House (military officer). He got to know a number of the Secret Service agents. One of the worst aspects of their duty was having to “loan” the President money. At church or in a public venue he’d turn to an agent and ask for a $20.00 bill. The agent would product the bill out of his own pocket. Kennedy would spend the money and would never repay. The agent could not file an expense report for the funds so he was out the $20.00. Tough duty at a time the average agent made about $200 per month.
At least Obama seems to be paying out of his own stash.
