BTW, there was an article on FR last night (which I have lost) that Cook County needs 500 election workers from conservative circles by Thursday, or the Dems will appoint them all. If any of you know anyone in Chicago, call them up and recruit them. I got my husband’s old college roommate and his girl friend with one phone call this AM. I think they are the only people I know in Illinois. So 100% victory for me.

Sarah and I went to watch Hempfield beat Kiski on Friday. It was a good weekend for football — until the last minute of the Steeler game.
Headed to Houston again today. Big convention.

No, they didn’t. 42-21 Hempfield. Or, as the newspaper put it “the suddenly relevant Hempfield.” They’re 3-1 now. They haven’t won more than 2 games in a season this millennium.
Kiski didn’t bring their band, which I thought was strange. Maybe they’re cutting back on travel costs.
You know who has gotten noisome with age? Peggy Nooner.

I’ve been on his Gfile list for a long while. I got my seat now and don’t have my bag at my feet, so I’m ready for my flight now. United has some new planes with really big overhead compartments — this isn’t one of them.
