Civitas Poll: Obama, Biden Lead Romney, Ryan in NC 49% - 45% (Taken 9/18-9/19)
Civitas Poll ^ | 9/24/12 | Civitas Poll

A new poll from the Civitas Institute found that the Democratic ticket of President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden is 4 percentage points ahead of the Republican slate — presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his running mate, Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan.

The Civitas Poll of 600 likely North Carolina voters was taken Sept. 18-19 and had a margin of error of plus-minus 4 percent. Asked if the election were held today who they would vote for, 49 percent chose Obama/Biden and 45 percent chose Romney/Ryan. (This is the first 2012 Civitas Poll to include the vice presidential candidates.)

Did you see the poll on Drudge’s site from Susquehanna? He called it a shock poll from PA. O47, R45. What to believe, what to believe.

The poll is nonsense with an oversampling of Dems. No way Romney will Lose NC. It is off the board
But considering the failure of this incumbent this race should not even be close nationally. It is. The only ads and spin I see coming from the Obama campaign are personal negative attacks vs the challenger basically because Obama has no record to run on and absolutely no ideas. Romney needs to bring a gun to this knife fight. Can the soaring rhetoric and go negative on Obama and the Obama economy all the time to get Obama’s numbers back down.I want to see ads with plenty of foreclosure signs, soup kitchen lines, out of business signs ending with a photo of Obama on the golf course until this economy and his failure is emblazoned on the minds of the voter

OK, I see why you thought it was a GOP poll. This is a “Conservative advocacy group”

Ok, you run a firm that wants media attention for your cause. Which poll is going to get your group more media attention? A poll showing a red state going red or a “shock poll” showing the other guy winning?

Nobody told this pollster that NC has gone totally Red. Obama’s campaign has folded their tent and left the state. NC is solid Rommney.

Even as a Pats fan, I loved that chant. Loudest I ever heard. Those refs sucked big time. And that FG was extremely questionable. But those refs would not have made it out of there alive if they ruled it no good.

Civatas means citizen. The entire Obama strategy relies on the non civatas vote, so my friends this is indeed a BS poll.

I can't find the methodology for this poll but when a poll defies common sense the methodology is as irrelevant as the results.

Man he got ZOTTED. What a troll, did not see too much of this in 2008, when the libs were all cocky and sure of themselves. I think there should be a moratorium on posters age. You have to be an active member for at least a year before you could post. Would cut down on this nonsense. Granted DU has some fellow travelers here, one was outed as a “Retired postal worker” last week. This tool every poll thread was 100% doom and gloom 100% of the time

The Pollsters can't even tell us correctly whether they polled Registered or Likely Voters. These are both direct quotes from the article:

"The Civitas Poll of 600 likely North Carolina voters was taken Sept. 18-19"

"This poll of 600 registered voters in North Carolina was conducted September 18-19,"

Which is it, you pollster scientists?
