Zachary Tennen, a 19-year-old sophomore at Michigan State University, was at an off-campus party when two college-aged men approached him and demanded to know if he was Jewish.
When Zachary said he was, the men made a Hitler salute, said they were part of the Ku Klux Klan, and beat him unconscious, breaking his jaw in the process.
While he was knocked out, one of them stapled the boy’s mouth shut while guests at the party watched. No one intervened or called the police – instead, the other guests kicked Zachary out of the house the moment the 19-year-old came to.
Zachary is scheduled for surgery this week, but his trials are far from over. As East Lansing police try to find the men who assaulted him, department spokesmen claim they don’t believe the attack was a hate crime, and are refusing to investigate it as such.

If anyone actually did beat this kid up, they were likely Muslims and certainly not Republicans nor right wingers.

May be made up; yet to be seen. Don’t bet that if true it won’t be promoted as an attack by “right wing” (read GOP) extremists.
Meanwhile in Ann Arbor a judge just handed down a restraining order against a kid who got his ass kicked by several members of the UofM hockey team.
Yeah he got his butt kicked but good but then he shouldn’t have been stalking the ex girlfriend he beat up a few days earlier.
There were competing KKK operations in the 1920s.
The KKK in the immediate post Civil War period was dedicated to corraling Negroes and murdering Republican politicians. The KKK in the 1920s was dedicated to supremacy over Negroes, Catholics and Jews ~ giving it an entirely different flavor.
Today's KKK is mostly irrelevant.

A little web research revels that this article is a little over board. The police investigation states one punch no hitler salutes no witness to the mouth stapling etc. One suspect questioned but not arrested yet.
I would agree with that, mostly irrelevant, except when the democrat party ties them to conservatives.

even the ADL says not a hate crime. now the kid and the parents are silent.
clearly someone punched him, but witnesses and that he (zach) was drinking and knocked unconscious could have tinkered with his memory.

Someone started a support FB page for him, but the lasts posts are around the time (Sept. 6th), that witnesses were saying something different, a lot different and apparently he was walking party row, and no one in that house knew him. It happened out on the sidewalk in front. Plenty of more differences than Zach’s recollection. His father was very vocal, now they both have shut up.
He was apparently assaulted (while drinking underage), with one punch. That punch could have killed him. The alleged perp is 18 and hasn’t been arrested yet. The media of course, hyped the story and when the investigation to a hate crime turns up no Nazi-hate-crime, the MSM has moved on. The MSM has a duty to follow up.
When I go to off-campus parties to drink, I always carry a stapler. You never know when you’ll have to prepare a report.
