SEPULVEDA PASS (CBSLA.com) The California Highway Patrol said there will be zero tolerance for locals who try to fool around on the 405 freeway in the Sepulveda Pass during this weekends 53-hour closure.
The CHP released a Carmageddon II Public Service Announcement that reminded residents the 405 freeway between the 10 and the 101 is strictly off-limits.
Drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, skateboarders: take note. If you access the closed section of the 405, you will be breaking the law, said an officer in the video.
Last year, Barry Neely and his friends hopped a fence and had an early morning brunch in the northbound lanes of the 405.
They got away with just a warning.
Local law enforcement said they will have extra patrols this year to make sure something like that doesnt happen again.
Officials said they will make arrests, if necessary.
According to Metro, 185,000 cars need to stay put starting Saturday for Carmageddon II to be a success.

hey that’s funny!
I can remember playing with my brothers on the Santa Monica freeway when it was just a mound of dirt.
