If you were looking for someone to advance the Conservative movement, Savage was totally untrustworthy and phoney.
That said...I will still miss him because he made me laugh like none of the other talk show hosts could.

So is Savage retired now? What's his plan?

I'm just an occasional Savage listener...

Probably eating in Chinese restaurants with that yappy little pocket-rat of a dog of his.

Thirty years I’m eating in that place. Thirty Years! I’m never going back. The schmucks, the filthy vermin. Teddy was trying to enjoy a quiet bite and some brat kid is screaming and crying, and a woman is breast feeding him as she changes his diaper right on the table. I can’t take it. I’ve had it. Thirty years!

Don’t know what his plans are. Stay tuned!
There will be a better post in the morning in
‘Breaking News’ :)

Doc Savage is often enough disgusted with everything
that he might just quit us altogether. :)

I am a daily listener - love him - but I’m from
NY - so his idiosyncrasies don’t bother me.

He tells the truth for better or worse, and I
hope we haven’t lost his voice.

I agree, he’s not a very good cheerleader.
The other 4 do a much better job.

There are times when Savage makes me want
to slit my wrists.

But YES, he makes me laugh.

I remember when I first discovered him for myself. It was during the 2000 election fiasco. I was angry/disgusted and tuned into the radio late on a Friday evening, and I ran across this voice of a guy that sounded as pissed off about it as I was. Have been a listener ever since.

I’ll hate to see him go!

but I assume everyone looks at everything.

That would be a good assumption in my case. I pay no attention to the posting categories.

Savage is the rare talent who can do multiple segments all by himself without a guest and still be entertaining. I see the Wikipedia has him number five. Number One, of course, has no difficulty pulling off the mono-monologue. He is the ultimate "Doctor of Democracy". Number 2 is guest-driven. No problem with that, as long as it's interesting, which it usually is. Numbers 3 and 4 are irrelevant. I expect Number Five will be back soon enough.

let’s see—I just saw this myself via a post on my facebook by Radio Ink magazine

SAVAGE SAYS HE WON LAWSUIT AGAINST TRN
http://www.radioink.com/Article.asp?id=2541828&spid=24698

Michael Savage will be off the air for “some time” according to his website. He’s posted a message that says, “after a grueling legal battle that cost him and his family dearly, Michael Savage can announce he won.” Savage filed a lawsuit against TRN in 2010 over his contract and says he is “now free to work with whomever he wishes in the radio industry from this day forward.” We’ve left a message with Savage’s attorney to try to get more detail. We’ve also reached out to TRN for a comment but have not heard back yet. More details as we get them.
World Net Daily broke the story at Thursday night and it was one of the top headlines on Drudge.

WND:Top-rated talk-radio host Michael Savage announced today he has won his legal battle to free himself from his syndicator, the Talk Radio Network, and can negotiate with a new network.

Where is it written that anyone has to advance a particular agenda? Michael Savage is a unique voice of reason. Isn’t that enough in this mad world?

in Boston wRKO says Savage on “hiatus” and they’re offering Levin at least for tonight. I’d think RKO at least would pick up Savage again once he has a new deal

"Savage was totally untrustworthy and phoney"

You are so right there. I hope this liberal fake savage will never go back on the radio.

This savage whose real name is Weiner even gave $5000 to ultra liberal democrat Jerry Brown who is the governor of california now.

I hate this savage cause it was a marxist who fooled his listeners into supporting democrats by bashing Republicans from the “right” , bashing Sarah Palin, Republicans in congress at the height of the elections etc.

That damn Savage, does he get along with anyone? Now whats he gonna do? Many stations were looking for a reason to dump him but feared listener backlash, now he just let them do it with his help. Once they replace Savage with someone else on all those Savage stations, they're apt to just keep them there rather than go back to Savage, that's if Savage even comes back. Savage just might enjoy being off the air too much to come back on, similar to what happened to the great Art Bell

“Once they replace Savage with someone else”

It’ll depend on ratings, as always. If Savage had higher ratings they’ll want him back. New guy draws better they’ll keep him/her.

Not returning to radio "for some time" says it all to me. No hurry means no desire. I really did enjoy his final two nights on the air. Wish he could have gone out with a bang for his audience. ----

Here's a classic cut --- Classic Savage

My local station announced yesterday afternoon that "the great mark levin" will be the "permanent fill in".

Kuhner does an hour long show weekdays on my local station - WRKO - if you're interested MaryLou1 has a ping list and will be putting up a daily thread. Kuhner is on fire everyday. He called out the local morning hosts the other day and raked them over the coals for them going along with the media and saying Romney has lost the race. I think you can go to WRKO and hear past shows. It was Thursday morning when he was all over the morning show, priceless.

tj, I haven’t listened to Michael Savage in quite some time, but always enjoyed the threads and his show when I did a few years back. Even though I haven’t been listening, I’m sad that he’s gone. I so enjoyed his stories of his dog, restaurant experiences, and especially the stories from his youth. Those were the best. So enjoyed you, dynachrome, rockabyebaby, tarkus, and others perspective. I don’t see you much around FR these days tj, but I do think about you. Wish you would post more on FR, but you may have your reasons for that. Keep in touch.

Oh my—listening to music on You Tube and Rammstein’s Ich Will just came on. How fitting!! Funny.
