I can’t fathom it. Never have been able to.

Undecided voters make my teeth itch, too-I don’t think they live in the same dimension as everyone else-I can easily picture them wearing a T-shirt that says something like “I’m not educable”, or “kiss me, I’m stupid”.

I thought that I read that they were at Harvard together. I think that I heard that they were roommates at one time. Could be wrong about that, but that was my impression.

You got me curious so I googled. Can only find references to them being in biz together. Might be.

My compadre just called and said I’ll be there in 15, and I’ll take you to late lunch. He sounded all jovial-I hope this means we are closer to getting, or did get that remodeling bid-I’m out the door to meet him at the gate, saying Hail Marys all the way...

I looked it up. They were both consultants with the Boston Consulting Group early in their careers. They are approximately the same age. Netanyahu graduated from MIT, and Romney from Harvard, so I was wrong about school together. But they went through the BCG “boot camp” together as young professionals and their lives have intersected regularly — proffering advice to each other as their careers developed. Because of the BCG boot camp experience they almost speak in “shorthand” to each other.

I knew they were friends from way back. Cool. Seems they are both very accomplished men.

Well, it looks like all the Hail Marys worked-we’re within 1-2 weeks of a contract-if the customer gets their money, my compadre is the chosen contractor, and he wants me to watch over it, as well as do my usual work. We agreed to both light candles and say more prayers that the customer gets his funds.

I'm glad to see there are so many Larry Niven fans around. I am looking forward to the Rishathra.

Thank you, and thank you!

And it is raining off and on here-already 2 1/2 inches since yesterday-also a good thing...

I watched the local weather last night to see where the storms were, and the weatherman/meteorologist had started a contest for the top ten rain songs. (Gag) “McArthur Park” won-the guy said how much he hated that song, but sang part of the chorus for the 20-something news bunny who said she’d never heard it. The first time I heard that song, I wanted to tear my hair and scream, and that has not changed...

One of my favs was way down on the list-

“Bad dreamer, what’s your name
Looks like we’re ridin’ on the same train
Looks as through there’ll be more pain
There’s gonna be a showdown

And it’s raining all over the world
Its raining all over the world
Tonight, the longest night”

I despise MacArthur park, American pie, wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald and whatever that song of the beegees about some mining disaster. I fully expect those all to be faves of HD....

“Anerican Pie” is also gag-inducing to me. I never thought that “The Wreck of the Edmund Firzgerald” belonged on the radio as a pop song-it is more like an historical ballad/folk song-the kind of thing people sing at a storytelling session or at a campfire. HD likes songs about disasters and tragedy/suicidal ideation?

I don’t think that I can take it
Cause it took so long to bake it
And I’ll never have that recipe again

Perhaps the most insipid lyrics ever.
