Cautiously optimistic about these numbers. That’s a huge number of Independents, most of whom will break for Romney. While I don’t have a lot of confidence in some of the knuckleheads that live in this state (saw some of them on TV last night - a panel of citizens who were talking all over each other arguing about which left wing idea should be put in place right after the election), is it possible that Michigan might swing red this time?
The same chance a snowball has in Hell.
Really 38% Ind/Other?
I know this varies a lot from state to state but I have never known a state to be that high in actual percentages.
I’m happy to learn if this is right or wrong. Just, on its face, seems very disproportionate.
Considering the fact that Kwame Kilpatrick could run for mayor again in Detroit.... AND PROBABLY WIN, I think you are right.

The poll is on RCP but the pdf won’t open for me.
What if these were bogus polls too? But instead of intended to depress vote (like in Ohio) they are to distract and waste money in a state where he has no realistic chance.
I say places like Michigan and PA will come into play if Romney somehow wins in a landslide, it’ll be more of a national wave.
I personally wouldn’t spend a dime in MI or PA (always a tease). Put all your money in FL, VA, and OH. You win those, you win the election - as some other swing states will follow if those states are won.
Why waste money in Michigan after the GOP completely seized control of the state in 2010? Clearly there’s no chance of a republican ever winning anything here. /s
I don’t see any indication of Romney being pulled “offsides” by these states-—PA or MI. He was fundraising in Philly last night, I think just to show the flag, and the race there will be closer than people think, but I’m with you. Focus on VA, FL, CO, NV, OH, IA, and WI.
hey..... what about all the muslim votes in Michigan. Now who do you think THEY will vote for? /s
I think mid terms are far different. GOP completely controlled PA too in 2010 - US Senate seat, Governor, etc. And Obama is going to win that state too.
Corruption and GOTV in Detroit (and places like Philly, Chicago, etc) are too much to overcome in a national elections. Hey, I hope I’m wrong.
I just think where things are right now, I wouldn’t go chasing for reaches. If he were up 10 in the polls, then you can play spread offense.
Guess there’s no point in voting then.
Romney must move into both the Michigan and Pennsylvania markets, along with the pro-Romney Super Pacs.
Make the buy, move the needle, force Obama to react, and DRAIN OBAMA DRY.
Obama doesn’t have the $$$ to keep up. Run him out of money on or about October 20.
IMO playing the State lottery is more likely to get you a Jackpot win first....< sarc >
Iowa now has more registered I than either R or D. I don’t know about any other state.
