I remember Londo when he was Sid, the confidential informant, on “Hill Street Blues.” Color me surprised when he turned up as Dracula Bonaparte, wanna-be emperor of Alien Rome. Good at it, too ;-). Very cool cultural stuff in B5. We’ll have to watch a favorite episode this evening and drank some wine for Sinclair.

I think we’re looking at it from different angles.

I thought the acting was bad but it was actually the actors that said it.

But, I don’t think they were giving themselves credit for the handicap they were working with.

The story arc for B5 was terrific: one of the best ever brought to TV. But their special effects budget was crap.

So when the actors were doing a scene, they had to know that no matter how well they did, the set and effects production was going to make them look goofy and amateur. And more often than not, knowing that will drain an actors power and performance.

So in that context, yes, the acting quality was fine. Actually, it was pretty good. But compared to shows with hardcore performances all around, the acting was pretty bad.

Not really sure, to be honest. If he is, he must be in the Ayn Rand “guiding moral force to the universe” atheist camp. In other words, not a real atheist.

That could explain his view and in some way his even-handed treatment of religion. Later Star Trek in my opinion was never very kind to religion.

G’Kar and Londo started off good and truly became great. I think they both know the opportunity they had with those characters.

Went for a walk around the Mall in DC one day with a friend of mine ~ i was on a 10 day break from the military down at Fort Benning, and had been working there, so I went up to visit witht he old gang.

We ran into Thurgood Marshall ~ he also regularly walked around the Mall.

That's less common these days ~ too many people would be jumping on them ~ but you can always find a major politician somewhere in downtown DC when Congress is in session ~ kind of like a cheap scificon.

I got to meet Michael O'Hare once at Lunacon in 1997, where he was the Media Guest of Honor. (Note: Lunacon doesn't usually have "Media" GoH's -- usually, it's writer, artist and fan along with the occasional special guest). I got him to autograph a Babylon 5 paperback for my brother, who couldn't make it that year, and I conspired to save the poor fellow's life, though he never knew.

Yes, there's a story here:

I, along with two friends, were standing outside the ballroom in the hotel where "Meet the Pros" was going on. None of us had ever actually gone to meet the pros before and we didn't know if we could just walk right in and walk up to the man. Yes, we were just three fanboys gawking in the hall.

Then, someone I won't name except to say that he was the "least" among us, among our contingent of friends sharing rooms at the con, breezes right past us, walks across the room, and plops himself down into the seat next to O'Hare.

Well, if *he* could walk in, *we* could, too. So we did. That's when I found out that our friend was sitting there, chatting away, with a little Sony TV/video player in hand, bothering the hell out of O'Hare, who was too polite to tell him to beat it. And yet when he handed me back my book and my pen, he had a vacant stare in his eyes that pled, "For the love of God, kill me now! Please!"

(There are details that I save for in person tellings because you have to see how animated I get. Let's just say...) when the three of us left the ballroom, we said that we had to get (youknowwho) away from him. "But how? We don't want him with us!" Sadly, a very valid point.

We waited two minutes, ran back in, out of breath, and told him, "Quick! Ronnie needs you downstairs at registration!" And the four of us ran from the ballroom and down the stairs. My two friends doubled back on the other side of the staircase, while I led him to Ronnie and then ducked out the side door and made my escape.

And O'Hare never knew how we saved him.

I think Valen aka Commander Sinclair met with what her name in the past you know Sinclair girlfriend who later disappear in one of novels

Forgot her name she was Japanese character

I think Sinclair and her got together form Human and Minbari line that would bore future Ambassoer Delenn

Remember that episode Delenn found out she was CHILD OF VALENNNN

Remember that I forgot the name of episode

So Minbari born of the line were NOT True Minbari

I am such Babylon 5 geek

Don’t forget Jeff Conaway (Zach). 1950-2011.

Saw him on ome of those rehab shows with Dr Drew. So sad. He was in a wheelchair and in a lot of pain from something - I don’t remember what. God rest his soul, and all those other actors who have passed from B5 - having all given us so much.

I don't care for J.D.

I don't think he's very Conservative...nor Libertarian either.

He's on here in OK....1170 AM...in the afternoon. I try to like the guy...but he just grates on me.

Sorry I disagree....I don't think he's excellent.

But hey...we all can't like the same people or stuff.

RIP to him. If I had to choose between Londo and G’Kar, I would have to go with G’kar soley for that speech he gave at the council when Londo was calling for his head and he asked for sanctuary. That was some great acting.

Jerry Doyle’s talk show is still on. You might have to listen online, though, if it’s not on a radio station in your area:
