Obama supporter Christie Setzer on Fox. News item: Romney ahead of Obama by up to 20 points among veterans and military families in four key swing states. Her explanation:
1. Most military and vets are white men (a twofer: Romney supporters are racists and anyway they hate women).
2. Anyway, Romney isn't really ahead. It's a Fox lie.
The exit polls will prove her wrong. I doubt that Mr. Obama gets 10% of the non-black military/veteran vote.

My wife and I are Jewish. She tells me that I am one of only two Jewish man she knows who volunteered for the military. I have only one other on my side of the family*. Most of my generation of fellow American Jews are, frankly, self-centered pricks.

Who is Christie Setzer? What are her sources? What is her background? What is her track record for telling the truth? Who has she worked for in the past and who does she work for now?

Don't engage them on the "facts" or issues they bring up until you vet them. Who are they? What is their credibility? Who pays them and who has paid them? Unless they can prove that they are not inveterate liars, paid operatives and aren't nuttier than squirrel poop based on their past history there is no reason to discuss anything they bring up with them. The press is the enemy and should be treated accordingly.

But the fact that Mr. Setzer supports Ubama simply because he is 7% black doesn’t mean he’s a racist, and even if it does that’s OK because he is a member of the self-declared victim class.

This is a bald face lie. Many years back, I was privy to a report that stated that blacks, by percentage of population, was large in the military than whites. That even though there are more whites in the population than blacks, the percentage of the Army’s population that was black was larger than whites according to the USA population percentages. According to Heritage Foundation, blacks are very slightly over-represented in the military, AS ARE WHITES! Hispanics and Orientals are under-represented.

The majority of military casualties are overwhelmingly white. (Blacks tend to serve in support units). The more elite units tend to be whiter. Furthermore, rural and small-town whites from the South and Midwest are very common, really the backbone of the military. Today’s military is being feminized and homosexualized, it looks like they’re going to try to make it more and more uncomfortable for traditional white male soldiers.
Absolutely right. The resultant PC backlash (blacks, in particular, get special consideration for combat arms leadership) can have some rather tragic results (see 5/2 SBCT and COL Tunnell--if he had been white he would've been fired prior to deploying with 5/2, no question).
