Things were worse a couple of years ago, during the election of 2008. There were a couple of obvious trolls who started fights in every thread and the moderators would always pick their side. Exasperated Freepers left literally by the dozen. It was sad.

They’re both gone, now, and they took some of our most intellectual members off into the Great Internet with them. FR hasn’t been the same since.
