So, who got screwed worse by Schwarzenegger: Maria or California?
one man's opinion....

Posted on 10/02/2012 7:36:33 AM PDT by ken5050

I've pretty much ignored anything and everything to do with Ah-nuld, especially his latest round of public mea culpas to promote his book ( and attempt to restart his movie career.) He's a buffoon. But this morning, with Fox&Friends on in the background, as usual..I caught some of his interview with Gretchen Carlson ( and did you see the way she was glaring at him...hoo-boy!!) and Brian Kilmead. Which prompts the question..

Boy, did he fool all of us.

All of us Kimosabe? You might want to go back and check posts on FR at the time. It was clear CA was on a fast track to financial disaster and that only a new, more conservative Legislature could possibly save the state.

There were those of us who argued it would be better to let a Democrat governor take the well-deserved blame for that inevitable train wreck. Instead, folks here naively bought into the Austrian socialist's Hollywood Terminator persona. They somehow overlooked the glaring fact he was married to a Kennedy, was blinded by political ambition and was probably the country's most notable RINO.

Expecting a vestige of political sanity in a state populated with voters stupid enough to elect Jerry Brown not just once but twice is probably hopeless anyhow. But I suppose it's not as bad as a country that's poised to re-elect a man who will destroy its founding principles and will become its dictator.

Well, there are times when I wonder why plenty of wealthy politicians who have sex and kids with multiple women at once don’t bother also supporting polygamy. I guess that’s because they have this special privilege of being wealthy that makes them better than everyone else.

Boy, did he fool all of us. We thought he was the voice of sanity when he first announced he was running. What a disappointment. And California is going down the toilet, and much of the blame can be laid at his feet. Instead of standing up and fighting the Dems..he caved...

I wasn’t fascinated with Arnold as a candidate for governor: I was disgusted by it. I was bothered by the prospect of someone with an ego as big as Arnold’s having what it takes to be Governor of California, and doing better at addressing the state’s deficit budget. I was among those who advocated even out of state, not to try taking Arnold up as governor.

I appreciate and understand sarcasm as you sound like that in your post, but the whole recall election thing just to get some big-shot into office was just disturbing, to say the least.

Polygamy laws would require that the men financially support their multiple wives and children.

Why would men getting free milk support laws requiring them to buy (and feed) the cows?

I blame california voters as much as arnold. Remember the special election with prop 73, 74, 76 and 77 that would have done things like limit union spending, cut tenure, redistricted, etc... Those were defeated big time which basically left him powerless and humiliated with a psychopathic democratic legislature. I feel like at that point he just said whatever, screw California and the maid...

BTW - here is a great throwback free republic thread from the special election - timely given all the talk now about polls. "Don't believe the lies: Schwarzenegger's Propositions all winning" As user Giobruno said in the first message "They'd better or you can kiss fiscal solvency in CA for the next 25 years goodbye." They all lost by large margins.

PS: McClintock is obviously a 1000 times better person.

Kind of silly to blame it all on Arnold.

The legislature is in control of spending, and anyway most CA spending is designated for specific purposes by initiatives, etc. Even the legislature can’t impact the direction the state is headed much without repealing a bunch of laws that would immediately cause a whole bunch of lawsuits.

He could have done a great deal more to rally the people behind what needed to be done, the old bully pulpit, but simply by using his powers as governor he could not have made much difference.

It has never been a secret that Arnold has been a womanizer from the time he first began having success in body building. He supported himself by sponging off of one woman after another when he arrived in the United States and more often than not several at a time

Arnold has always had a ton of women groupies around him in the early days...there are a ton of pics out there with him and naked women in the weight room..

I feel like an idiot! Gray Davis was horrible and was ruining the state. I really believed Arnold could turn things around and actually went to his “coming out” party in San Diego when he officially started his campaign. To make matters worse, I also thanked my Congressman, Darrell Issa, for stepping down and backing Arnold. Boy, was I fooled!

Yep, Maria was behind pushing the anti-girly man to wed gays.

Most men would be corrupted by the sexual “opportunities” Arnold has been presented with. The problem is many of us thought that his sexual corruption wouldn’t carry over to his family and political activities. We thought he had already “sown his wild oats”. We should have realized that political power would corrupt him as easily as his sexual opportunities did.

“Why would men getting free milk support laws requiring them to buy (and feed) the cows?”

And there you said it, a perfect demonstration of what is wrong with this country. It’s specifically because these individuals don’t want to have legal responsibility or liability for their relationships that they don’t bother. I don’t think we should have state-recognized polygamy, but I do feel that child support bills should apply should some guy reasonably test positive for being a father of some woman’s child. I doubt that politicians would support it, but at the same time, it’s a good idea.

Current law does require child support of bastard children. Here’s the rub. The men have to have jobs and assets to pay support and those type of men generally aren’t the ones making babies with multiple partners.

It’s the gangbangers, thugs and the welfare class. The women don’t keep their knees together because they got Uncle Sam to support them and their get and they supplement that with whatever they can cajole out of the baby daddies.

Turn off the welfare spigot and a lot of problems will start to fix themselves.

All Three got shafted big time. I reject him and vow to not support any of his films and I hope Maria takes him to the bank and makes him a penniless—bit actor.
