Tiger, a formerly stray tabby cat, earned a special spot in one couples hearts when he recently saved them from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Rod and Michelle Ramsey of Mount Gilead, Ohio, were feeling ill one day. Michelle visited the doctor who told her it was likely food poisoning. So Michelle and Rod went to bed to recover.
But they couldnt sleep. Tiger, a stray cat that someone had recently abandoned at the Ramseys farm, stood by the side of the bed, meowing.
And meowing and meowing .and meowing. Michelle tells WBNS-TV that he came into the bedroom, screaming in a cat voice.
When Michelle got out of bed to let the persistent Tiger outside, she noticed her other cats were stumbling around the house. She called the vet and the veterinary assistant suspected right away what might be the cause. The vet tech asked Michelle if she had recently turned on the furnace. When Michelle said yes, the vet tech advised Michelle to get the family and cats out of the house right away.
Sure enough, when firefighters arrived, the house was full of carbon monoxide.
According to WBNS-TV, Firefighters told the couple that they did not know how the two were awake, let alone alive.
The Ramseys feel fortunate. Rod told WBNS that, while Tiger was getting plenty of love before, hes getting a lot more now! You take care of them, they take care of you, he said.
Good vet tech!
Meh. Keep cats long enough, you’re bound to have a demonic possession or two.
Absolutely, 100% on the top of his or her game. What a pleasure to read that some people still have it together.
Tabbies are the best.
I can believe it. One time I was taking a nap on the couch while my dad was fiddling with a smoke alarm in the basement. As can be expected, he accidentally triggered the alarm and couldn’t turn it off. I had figured that would happen so I had a pillow over my head already. My kitty (also a rescue) started running around, frantic at the sound of the alarm. Then she saw that I wasn’t getting up, jumped on the couch, and started pawing at my face and meowing. I could swear she was saying “gotta get up! Gotta get up! GOTTA GET UP!!!!!”
I patted her on the head, she decided that if I wasn’t worried, she wouldn’t be either, and she curled up beside me and took a nap. All with the alarm still blaring.
As opposed to their doctor...
What a good boy! And he’s looking pretty self-satisfied, if you ask me, LOL.
Nice Boots!
Nice story, but, not buying it.
The kitty was, more than likely, very hungry, and was on the bed trying to get the owners to pay attention and to feed him.
By coincidence, the other kitties were having trouble getting around, and the owners noticed, and decided to go to the vet for diagnosis. The symptoms were not that unusual for the vet to recognize, and so, the right questions were asked of Michelle, the “owner”. And, so, we end up with a story, over-dramatized, and strange, and one that people want to believe.
Or, it could be that that kitty was truly a hero looking out for the family and fellow kitties.
Good kitteh’s!!!!!!!
My Misty would agree with you.
No, I'm a demon.
