How our cities might explode
Tactical Patriot ^ | 10/1/12 | Matt Bracken:

In response to recent articles in mainstream military journals discussing the use of the U.S. Army to quell insurrections on American soil, I offer an alternate vision of the future. Instead of a small town in the South as the flash point, picture instead a score of U.S. cities in the thrall of riots greater than those experienced in Los Angeles in 1965 (Watts), multiple cities in 1968 (MLK assassination), and Los Angeles again in 1992 (Rodney King). New Yorkers can imagine the 1977 blackout looting or the 1991 Crown Heights disturbance. In fact, the proximate spark of the next round of major riots in America could be any from a long list cribbed from our history.

We have seen them all before, and we shall see them all again as history rhymes along regardless of the century or the generation of humankind nominally in control of events. But the next time we are visited by widespread, large-scale urban riots, a dangerous new escalation may be triggered by a fresh vulnerability: It’s estimated that the average American home has less than two weeks of food on hand. In poor minority areas, it may be much less. What if a cascading economic crisis, even a temporary one, leads to millions of EBT (electronic benefit transfer) cards flashing nothing but ERROR? This could also be the result of deliberate sabotage by hackers, or other technical system failures. Alternatively, the government might pump endless digits into the cards in a hopeless attempt to outpace future hyperinflation. The government can order the supermarkets to honor the cards, and it can even set price controls, but history’s verdict is clear: If suppliers are paid only with worthless scrip or blinking digits, the food will stop.

“Black Americans Are Moving South”

Yep, that was my point. That would include many moving to the east coast, etc.

Well, the Camaro might work more like a wedge/snow plow and toss rioters over the top on the hood (and possibly through the windshield). I’d guess that would happen before they got caught up in bodies underneath. Depends on the ride height. If the bumper hits them much around the knee area, they are probably going up and over.

Makes it tough to drive with a rioter in your windshield.

You’d probably scatter quite a few of them though if you stomped on the gas. But if you get stuck, you are toast. Of course you might have been toast anyway in that situation.

don't know either cars or physics, but I think you've hit on the key thing. You just have to "go for it". Most likely, everyone would desperately try to get out of your way. Then you have your chance and you just seize that opportunity. What causes people to lose their opportunity is the little thought that: "I can't run these people over! I might get arrested!!"

If you can really grasp the fact that the mob wants to kill you, and the police aren't gonna do a darn thing, then you can more freely "go for it" and get the heck out of trouble.

I'm positive that I will know if a mob wants to kill me and in that scenario police presence would not be a factor. Humanity might, my good raising might. I mean, no normal person wants to kill others, no matter the situation - I think that's what got Reginald Denny

Of course, if bodies get trapped underneath the vehicle and your progress is stopped, then you may not have a Plan B -- but failure to execute Plan A would have you in the same spot, right?

I've climbed up granite slabs at angles that would curl your hair - extreme 4 x 4 - though not in my Cherokee. But my Cherokee could crawl over items stacked, in my estimation, at least 4 ft tall, if I didn't lose my head and try to go too fast.

While crwalin', I'd be shooting.

Better them than me.

The old Camero? Well, I'm selling it. (I say old, so ya'lll know I did not participate in the bailout, it's really not that old).

You don’t have to tell, I have been watching it happen.

Even the Huffington Post noticed.
“”The liberal fantasy of “racial balance” in Southern California is coming to an end. As Latino and Asian immigrants continues to pour in, Whites and Blacks pour out. Larger and larger swaths of Southern California are now ethnic enclaves for either Asians or Latinos.

University of Southern California professor Dowell Myers calls the transition period between majority White to majority Latino or majority Asian “the good period.” Myers, who appears to be part White and part Asian, holds onto a fantasy that parts of California will remain in “the good period.” He says White people aren’t fleeing, which is completely false. The census data shows that White people and Black people are now leaving Southern California en mass.

Myers says the big cities are leaving “the good period” of “racial balance” and going solid Latino or Asian. He says the suburbs are now entering “the good period.” He holds onto a fantasy that the suburbs will stay in “the good period.”

In the past twenty years, the number of White people in California has dropped by two million. The rate at which whites are leaving the state is increasing. During that same time period, six million Latino and two million Asian immigrations moved in.

Orange County has lost 15% of it’s entire white population.””

I wouldn’t expect cops to flee in Texas or most anywhere else

You need to educate yourself.

See what happened recently next door in Louisianian. They not only fled en mass, but were found looting etc.

I wouldn’t expect cops to flee in Texas or most anywhere else, and leave the people as they are being murdered right in front of them.

Just because you learn that it happened in LA, does not mean that it is to be expected.

Using your car is fine, and hope that they can’t stop you with road blocks, or take you by surprise like they did Reginald Denny and many others, including those people that the cops drove around to get past them and what was happening to them

Big city mobs can swallow up a person with a pistol, or even shoot back.

_____________________________________

I don’t expect cops to abandon their posts. But, it COULD happen. Or perhaps, there are no cops available.

My question only addressed the ability to drive through a mob.

And are you tellling me that Reginald Denny was caught by suprise? If I had been in a semi, I’d have plowed me some rioters.

I love seeing this come back around and around!

In fact, it’s going to be in the next two print editions of Soldier of Fortune magazine.

I’m just saying. Well, I wouldn’t worry about where I was driving with a rioter on my windshield; who needs to see in that scenario?

I’d say, when you see what’s happening, floor it. I don’t want to hit people, but people don’t want to be hit either.

If you slow down to “make your way through the crowd” your’re dead.

IMHO, Reginald Denny cared about human life, so he slowed down. The sub-human crowd beat him half to death for his trouble. The crowd that attacks me can only hope that I care.

If I am in my car, sometimes a Jeep Cherokee, sometimes an old Camero, and I encounter a mob, can the mob prevent me from running them down? Seriously. What prevents the mob from getting creamed?

Google the Crown Heights riots, among others. If you plow into the crowd to escape, you had better escape! If the bodies are too thick in front and you come to a stop, the fully enraged crowd will literally rip to to pieces with their bare hands. Seriously.

Plus, what makes you think you will be car #1 with just a few rioters in front? If so, yes, by all means put the hammer down.

But what if you are car #17 in gridlock with 100s of swarming rioters? Then what? You had better have helicopter rotors ready to unfold in a big, big hurry for a vertical escape.

We seem to have two scenarios here. (1) One is rioting due to the outcome of the election. (2) The other one is, an economic collapse and those EBT cards not working causing the start of riots due to holders of the card not being able to get food.

1. Election riots: Fill up your car before the day of the election. Have everything you need for several days. Keep aware of events AND STAY HOME THE DAY AFTER THE ELECTION IF YOU POSSIBLY CAN. The days after that will take care of themselves - either you can leave the house or it is too dangerous to leave. Preppers will have everything they need for a long time if necessary.

2. Economy collapse riots: People with EBT cards cannot buy food. They will go to grocery stores and walk out with food without paying. Others do the same, riots start and grocery stores become empty as well as stop and go places. Fast food restaurants will be hit for food.

I do not see residences being looted as long as there is still food concentrated in stores. After that is gone, let's say three or four days, some residences will be attacked, but remember, 99% of people don't keep much food in their home and they likely have eaten all they had by then. Looters will figure this out and see no reason to go to more homes and risk being shot - especially in Texas, they will be dead.

Dead for nothing will mean something to looters who are still alive and they are now hungry and thirsty - they will go where they think there is much food and water. They will head to rural areas where they mistakenly think people in the country have lots of food growing behind their houses and there are chickens and cattle, plus they have water wells, lots of water.

Most people in rural areas, likely 95%, get their food at grocery stores and if they have a well, they have to have power to get water out. Rural people living within one tank of gasoline from a city will see zombies sooner than people living farther out.

While Travis paints a gory picture of guns and rifles, I don't think there will be a protracted war scenario due to the zombies need for food and water. There is no point in fighting if there is no food and water for which to fight.

I think the zombies will spread out fairly quickly into the countryside for that food and water which likely won't be there. The farther away you are from a city, the more likelihood many zombies will be dead from lack of water and food before they get to you.

There is one place they know for sure they can get water and that is a lake and there are fish to eat there. I expect lake areas to have a concentration of zombies.

If there is a zombie war, I think it will be in lake areas as people try to take back those lakes.

I left out law enforcement because I think they will be fairly useless due to their low numbers compared to the number of zombies and they will probably be with their families since they know they are totally outnumbered.

My rationale is, zombies need food and water and that will guide the direction of their movement.

Preppers will be prepared for any eventuality but there are not many preppers per capita in this country.

It seems you are getting angry and trying to go personal for some reason.

This thread shouldn’t be causing that reaction, you don’t need to start building a personal profile to understand our posts.

I agree with you that millions of better quality whites and blacks are fleeing California, and have been since at least the mid 1980s.

I do disagree with thinking that the riots are over.

Did you see my answer? In part:

I'm expecting to see things I've never imagined.

But my concern is ME and MINE. No matter the cost!

Going by memory, I think that he was not aware of the riot, he had been listening to classical radio and didn’t know what was happening.

I drove in there to take pictures once they got the curfew going.

You do the best you can with what you have, and starting out with a car and a pistol is a heck of a lot better than nothing, but riots can swallow people up.

One thing I didn’t mention in the original essay (it was already 6K words long!) was that in any prolonged crisis with no delivery, the pharmacies will be stripped bare and will not be resupplied. Lots of folks are only walking around peacefully today because of their modern and effective antipsychotic meds.

Take away their meds, put them under extreme stress, hunger, fear etc, and they will be extremely, hyper, mega dangerous to the general society. Their “bad example” in public will be copied by many others who are just a hair less crazy, and so the cascade of violence will continue.

Definately something to think on. Perhaps vertical is not the only choice?

Left? Right? Reverse?

Take down as many as I can before being overwhelmed? And that’s it.

If I can’t get out, I’ll use every effort, and every bullet but one. Because they won’t take me alive for their plaything.

Since I have a lifetime subscription, I won’t be missing it.

Did you know that they had that subscription during a very tiny window, back in the 1990s, I never learned why.
