In 1920, King Alexander of Greece died from a monkey bite. This led Britain, France and Italy to pull the plug on aid to Greece in its war with Turkey, since the new king had favored neutrality during WWI. As a result, Greece lost the war, and Christian civilization in Anatolia was eradicated. It is said that the bite of a monkey caused a quarter million deaths.
