I don’t remember much about my bris, since I was only 8 days old at the time. It must have hurt. I was told that I couldn’t walk for a year.
Ireland is a lovely country with lovely people, but they don’t understand squat about our politics, or candidates. I was in Ireland on the original 9/11. While expressing sympathy on one hand, they were all atwitter about the possibility that Billy Jeff was looking at an estate and golf course membership inn Ireland. They couldn’t understand why most of the Americans on the tour didn’t think that Clinton moving to Ireland was not just a peachy idea. (Most of us were still hoping to see him behind bars.)
My Mother’s doctor told her straight out that as she reaches age 80 there will be restrictions on the care they will be allowed to do for her. Surgeries and other testing will just not be covered after a certain age. The Doctor was very upset telling her this and said she might quit medicine because so many of her patients are elderly and she can’t face just allowing them to die.
Shouldn’t I have heard a drum roll after that statement?

I wouldn't have even pointed the location of Intrade out if it weren't for "Truthy" being all worried about the Intrade odds between Obozo and Romney.....I don't think much of outlets like them and I never see them as predictors of elections either.
My prediction is that if Intrade doesn't make those numbers realistic "they are going to take a bath" on this election.
I never let a foreigner tell me what to think about my country even when I'm in their country having dinner over business.
Even in Democrat heavy areas like Alexandria and Falls Church, where you expect to see Obama signs, Romney signs are right next to them.
except i am still not seeing very many Obama yard signs in either Alexandria or Falls Church. And yeah, mr genius Obamabot, signs don't vote, but if you have people beating down the door looking for Romney signs, chances are they are going to make the effort to vote for him!
I’ve been told that I need to have my knees replaced before 2014 because Obamacare will not approve it because of my BMI. So, I have a choice: starve to death, or be crippled. Yes, my doctor was upset about it too.

What a crock! That is what insurance is for-a fact that bolsheviks don’t understand, so it may be wiser to do it now, if you are so inclined. And anyway, what are they calling bad? Those BMI charts are not one-size-fits-all-we are not all alike.
Some guys at work try to give me chips and stuff which I don’t like because I prefer to eat a Neolithic/Atkins diet heavy on the veggies. I have a small build and don’t weigh much, but I’m happy with myself, what I eat, and can outwork lots of those men. If you are comfortable with your body, and it works for you then it isn’t anyone’s business.

I think most of the merry rhymesters (apologies to Ken Kesey in dementia-er-absentia) here are better at it than Jay-Z-too bad we can’t get paid for it.
XS asking “did you eat?” reminded me of the way the husband of one of my cousins used to talk when he first came to Texas. He is black, an ethnic Puerto Rican from New York, and his way of asking if you had eaten sounded like one word-”jeet?” They went to work in the valley after they retired from the AF, and he now sounds just like the rest of us here.
