Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee
A myriad of sex scandals has gripped the Detroit Police Department.
Its latest chief Ralph Godbee was suspended for 30 days after an affair with police officer Angelica Robinson took a turn for the worse, 7 Action News reported Tuesday.
His predecessor, Chief Warren Evans, was also forced to resign after sleeping with a police officer Monique Patterson.
In a bizarre coincidence, Godbee is also accused of having an affair with Patterson.
But Godbee is in trouble for his alleged relationship with Internal Affairs Officer Robinson, who tweeted Tuesday about her relationship with the chief when she believed he was at a conference with another woman, according to 7 Action News.
Godbee is also accused of having a third affair with an unnamed woman outside the department.
Mayor Dave Bing said in a statement he suspended Godbee "after learning of the allegations" against him. The Mayor's Office refused to answer any questions beyond the official statement.
"Wow look like the Chief is not who we all thought he was so sad!" Godbee's estranged wife Yolanda tweeted after news of the affair broke, adding "@mericapatterson don't let this man bring u down! Know that u r NEVER the only one in his life. Don't ruin your life he's no good."
Evans, Godbee's predecessor, was forced to resign in 2010 after it was revealed he had an affair with Patterson.
Godbee reportedly also had a relationship with Patterson but it was unclear if his relationship overlapped with Evans'.
The department doesn't forbid command officers from dating subordinates but it can cause "a major conflict of interest," according to the television

That Godbee feller is a real horticulturist!
This sort of stuff would be deterred better if BOTH were fired.
Godbee must have been negligent in ensuring she received her promotion to Captain.
Sloppy work indeed.
Not the brightest bulb is he.
Sloppy police work.

Internal affairs indeed! Sounds like she was certainly doing her job!
A story that makes me wish Richard Pryor were still alive. Only he could do justice to it.
Hmmmmm...methinks Monique Patterson is from I-DA-HO.
That is one of the better explanations of Liberals...
The old Chief was fired for having a ‘thing’ with a F. LT under his command.
The new Chief figures that NO WOMAN is worth losing a job over so he just has to see what all the ‘fuss’ is about.
Then, for kickers, not only the ‘old standby’ but get something going with an Internal Affairs Officer - KNOWING - he got his job because of the indiscretions of his predecessor.
Yes, definitely a candidate for Darwinism.....
Like the young sailor comes up before the Capt for being AWOL. He gets a warning.
Two days later same sailor, same offense. He gets a week restriction.
Two days after restriction, same sailor, same charge.
He comes up before the ‘Old Man’, who shakes his head and says? “What time are WE going ashore tonight”? Sailor says “WE?” “Yes, if she is that good I am going to have to have a go at it myself”.
Every time Monique goes down, a chief goes down. LOL
From that photo, I suspect she has sampled many other caliber weapons.
You know what Detroit needs? A reality TV-show featuring all aspects of city administration.
