I think Massa will retain his seat because Vettel is coming in 2014 so it is only a one-year seat for whoever takes it. Almost all the drivers want a Ferrari seat---but a one year in-and-out is not at all what drivers are looking for.
Been a great season - can’t wait for Austin.
Vettel would be a fool to leave RB. The big red bull will spend whatever it takes and the Prancing Horse has been at the FIA bitching about the cost of racing. I guess signs of the Italian economy.
Can you believe it? The Ferrari bunch complaining about the cost of racing after they were leaders of the superteam status of the Shumey years???? Sheese, this is the biggest of the big boy racing so put on their big boy diapers and either do it or go back to Maranello.
Same thing goes for NASCAR and IRL, pay the price of admission or go home. I would rather watch 14 world class cars race than 24 crapwagons.
Yeah - that’d be great.
Sure, never been on a Chode list before!!! LOL
I still despise Casio Triangle (the final chicane). The rest of the track is a blast to race on (in the virtual world!).
Suzuka is a very narrow track. No long straights either (the proverbial Mickey Mouse course). I wonder how much overtaking we’ll see in the race. My first guess would be, little. But with all the artificial doodads on the cars these days...?

In the virtual world, it was my best track. I’m sure in real-life it wouldn’t be.
Nurburgring Nordschleife was my worst. That is one tough track.
He didn’t look that sharp in 3rd round quali. That time Vettel put up is impressive considering the nearest rival team is almost 1/2 a sec behind him.
In his announcement, Schumi looked like someone ran over his favorite dog.
I was rooting for Kobayashi. Best starting position for a Japanese driver at the GP of Japan—with Button’s 5 place penalty, he’ll be 3rd on the grid.
LOL! It's funny how I like longer as opposed to shorter tracks, but I just do not like the Green Hell. Spa, Gedinne, even Schottenring (!) I like. The Nord' just bores me.
I've got the DVR set to record Suzuka, but it's on SPEED at 1:30 my time. I'll probably stay up at least an hour to watch some of it.
did anyone tape today’s Japanese Grand Prix??!!! my freakin machine did not go off and its the first race in five years i did not tape....of course it has to be the ONE race Speed will not replay!!!
i will pay for it or compensate anyone for mailing, taping, etc....i can use VHS or DVD but will take anything at this point if it can be viewed....thanks...
I have it on DVR (Dish Network). I am on lap 3 with it paused at the moment, but I can get back with you after watching to make sure it is all there.
Congrats to Kobayashi for his first podium, and at his home race! Very cool.
Your quickest -free- option would be to look for a torrent - usually out a few hours after the race.
Since I have a Usenet account, I d/l’ed the race in 720p HD that way (enter “formula1” as a search term at e.g. www.binsearch.info to see what’s available...)
thanks- but i am clueless how to download that stuff...
Well, I’d hate to steer you toward something you are unfamiliar or uncomfortable with. But there’s loads of information and tutorials regarding both torrents and Usenet just a few mouseclicks away (Google, wikipedia...).
Neither would make you happy if you have a low-bandwidth internet connection, of course.
You could also try to look for a video stream that might be available from some source via your browser.
thanks..i may give it a whirl tonight....i’ve got FIOS and a pretty high bandwidth connection....
any known safe sites to download software for torrent viewing/saving?? i just downloaded two viruses onto a work computer trying to get today’s race...TIA..
You can get it from the source, so most probably virus free:
As for the torrents themselves...look at the content file. If it's an archive it's likely passworded... If the file size is small, it's probbaly a virus and not a video file...etc. Common sense helps, but some learning curve will be there. Good luck...
