The James Bond film franchise turns 50 today, so we're celebrating something called Global James Bond Day. And if you don't, the studio bosses will evaporate the world's oceans with lasers from space.
Really and clearly, Global James Bond Day is all about promoting Skyfall, the 23rd 007 film, which opens next month.
So where will Daniel Craig's latest stack up against the previous Bond films? Will it be better than the excellent Casino Royale? More cringe-worthy than Moonraker?
To help you assess the looming threat of Global James Bond Day, we present our list of 22 the previous Bond films, ranked from worst to best.

There have been 24 previous Bond movies. The original Casino Royale is the worst, followed by any Roger Moore flick.

The evil overlord list does need a lot of updating, both to keep up with current evil overlord management trends and to eliminate the embarrassingly anachronistic advice.
For instance, just because an evil overlord is autocratic does not mean his chain of command should be disorderly or have overlapping authority, nor does it mean that he should not delegate autocratic authority to subordinates.
Military staff organization has several thousand years of testing behind it, and military planning was mostly figured out as far back as Sun Tzu.
The evil overlord needs to regularly give and receive written evaluations and efficiency reports, as well as closely track the finances, psychological and physical health of his subordinates. Likewise, subordinates should have very comfortable retirement schemes in the realm’s military industrial infrastructure, as business procurement consultants to the overlord.
By all appearances, his chief lieutenant should be the one that all other subordinates fear and who handles day to day administration. However, he must be excluded from any chance of succession, and if the evil overlord dies, he dies.
Mercantilism is underrated. Specie is far preferable to fiat currencies, and government graft and corruption should have very explicit rules known to the public. In hard times, bread and circuses give an evil overlord the popularity he needs to stay in power, and are pretty cost effective, all things considered.
A great secret of evil overlords is public education. When children are out from underfoot, parents are far less likely to be stressed and foment revolution.
If you want to exterminate some minority, the best way to do so is to give them the tools to exterminate themselves, while having fun doing it.

Number One: “Sense and Sensibility”
IMO I would move Goldfinger up. I thought it was hilarious that a guy who has so much gold and plans to corner the market would cheat at cards. Nice touch.
I think From Russia was a different type of movie. Smaller. As was the Man With the Golden Gun. I liked both.
To me Goldfinger perfected the plot pattern established by Dr. No. I think I could outline a Bond plot in my sleep.
I’d invite a different type of treatment, just for the change. I like that the new guy came in aggressive and somewhat lack of polish. Kind of a younger Bond who develops over time.
I must confess, I’ve seen all of the movies at least 3 times and would see them again. Hell, even the original Casino Royale.
BTW I saw the 50s TV version of Casino Royale and I wish they would run that every now and then.
I supported Clive Owen as Bond when they picked Craig. I think the black guy who played Dench’s asst would be a good Bond. And maybe a few more.
Anyone know when Craig will bail out?

Depending upon my mood, the great middle section can move around, though the top two never change for me, and because I’ve never cared for Craig, I tend to put them in the bottom. Your ranking Moonraker 3rd is a puzzlement, as most consider it the nadir of the pre-PB era (and seeing GF so far down is also a surprise, since that’s what defined JB as a franchise to me). I rank AVTAK 15th, but for a guilty pleasure, it is really in my top 5. I put DAD as dead last, because I thought it was just plain atrocious (which even Rosamund Pike couldn’t elevate). QoS was only marginally better, but I’ve only watched it once and it doesn’t even seem like a Bond film. Otherwise, your rankings generally jibe with mine.

I think Dalton gets a bad rap as Bond. His edgier, brooding portrayal is more faithful to Fleming’s original Bond, who was pretty much a guilt-ridden burn-out case looking for a way out of the service. And Dalton actually kept a copy of Fleming’s book on hand during filming for use as reference material in between scenes. Gotta give him credit for that.

Diana will be playing the Queen of Thorns in the next season of Game of Thrones.
After the comedian(Moore) retired i found him quite refreshing yes edgier and had a sense of humour..I believe the movies did well at the box office but he was only there to fill in until Pierce Brosnan was available..

I break down my favorites and least favorites based on who's playing 007, but again, picking one film as “the best” (and I've tried over the decades) eludes me.
Anyway, here's my attempt to rank them:
Connery: The original and best Bond, period. I also include Never Say Never Again.
Best: Tie between all of them (minus Diamonds Are Forever). Loaded gun to my head, I go with either From Russia With Love, Goldfinger or You Only Live Twice.
Worst: Diamonds Are Forever. Yuck.
Lazenby: What could have been... N = 1.
Best: OHMSS
Worst: N/A
Moore: I like Moore better than most, but he had some crap scripts to work with.
Best: The Spy Who Loved Me, For Your Eyes Only, and yes, A View To A Kill.
Worst: Tie between Moonraker and Octopussy. Even with Michael Lonsdale or the still hot GILF Maud Adams, both are utter crap.
Dalton: What could have been... N = 2.
Best: License to Kill
Worst: The Living Daylights (I just can't get into it.)
Brosnan: The more I've watched the Brosnan flicks, the less I generally like them.
Best: Tomorrow Never Dies. Best of a mediocre bunch.
Worst: Die Another Day (Even with Halle Berry, the invisible car, DNA swapping and the Madonna cameo were too much. Puke on film.
Craig: N/A. Haven't seen either of his 007 flicks yet.
Don’t care much for AVTAK myself(although it’s much better than QOS IMHO). However MR and OP and my 2 favorite Roger Moore Bond films. The goofy 007 era of 1971-1985 generally provides a lot of good, underrated escapist fun.
