US musician Art Garfunkel has been located in the US ending a search for the star which began after he failed to show up for a concert in Gothenburg in western Sweden on Friday.
"We lost track of him in Gothenburg," ticket agent Julius Malmström confirmed to the Sydsvenskan daily after the star failed to show for a second gig in Malmö on Saturday evening.
Garfunkel was due to perform as part of a touring concert entitled "Night of the Proms" alongside Anastacia, Måns Zelmerlöw and John Miles, but shortly before he was due on stage the veteran crooner disappeared.
Julius Malmström confirmed that he had last seen Garfunkel when they drove around in Gothenburg on Thursday, revealing that the artist had expressed concern over his voice.
"He seemed fit but not completely happy with his voice. It is possible that he was off colour, but if you are sick then you need to go to the doctor and get a certificate for your employer," he told the newspaper.
"This is bad form. Not least for himself. He is an icon in the business and it is regrettable if his career will end like this."
Malmström explained that ticker-holders would be entitled to a partial refund once he had contacted Garfunkel's US management on Monday to ascertain what had happened and why Garfunkel had decided to return home.

Paul Simon is the musical brains, true. But Garfunkel has been a part time professor of Mathematics at Columbia University during his life.
However he has destroyed his voice with the pot smoking, which is a shame.

I went to the Madison Square Garden once for a Simon and Garfunkle reunion concert (and also Paul Simon and the Black Lady Mombassa)... great evening.
I was sitting next to the sound booth (lousy cheap seat.. behind a pole too)... and Garfunkel kept coming back there to yell at the sound technician. He actually was really nasty to the poor guy, I felt sorry for him. Garfunkel seemed like a real ass they way he was acting.

On that site is the song, Anji, that Paul Simon performs with us brother, Bob. Didn't know he had a brother. Bob's quite accomplished at guitar as well.
Thanks!

I hope there is a good excuse.
Attended the concert in Central Park in 1986 and loved it - 600,000 and they all cleaned up after themselves . . .
Saw Paul Simon at Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida lately and what a concert that was. That followed the Sting concert at the old Jackie Gleason Theatre in Miami Beach.
And I have tickets to The Who on November 1st - quite the trio of concerts for the past 12 months . . . I can die happy!

He belongs in jail for theft. As long as he didn't sign the contract with intent to deceive, he's only guilty of breach of contract, and the contract most likely spells out the specific penalties for non-performance. If everyone who failed to show up for work was thrown in jail, we would run out of jails. I'm pretty sure he didn't get much in the way of front money, anyway.

Those with tickets get a “partial” refund? What the heck is that all about? Shouldn’t they get a FULL refund and the show’s producer goes after Garfunkel for the money lost? Oh, I guess things must work diffently in a socialist leaning country.
