Because of who he is and what hes done, Jerry Sandusky could be in particular danger of sexual assault when he is sent off to prison this week.
With thousands of inmates raped behind bars in the U.S. each year, statistics compiled by the federal government show that sex offenders are roughly two to four times more likely than other inmates to fall victim.
Sandusky, the 68-year-old former Penn State assistant football coach, will be sentenced Tuesday for sexually abusing 10 boys in a scandal that rocked the university and brought down coach Joe Paterno. Sandusky is likely to spend the rest of his life in prison.
Its entirely possible that he will serve his time without incident. His lawyer, Joe Amendola, said he expects Sandusky will be housed with nonviolent offenders at a minimum-security prison, and the Pennsylvania Corrections Department said it is committed to the safety of all inmates, though it would not comment on what it plans to do to protect Sandusky.
But its also true that child molesters are reviled inside prison walls just as they are on the outside, and are often subjected to physical and verbal abuse, including sexual assault. Given the horrific nature of Sanduskys crimes, will the public care what happens to him in prison?

In his case I’d say...........
TURN ABOUT IS FAIR PLAY!
Considering he likes sex with men you would think that he would be looking forward to prison.
Correction, he likes sex with boys...he won’t enjoy what he’s getting in prison (at least I hope not).
Sodomy is always wrong.
Plus, Sandusky is a queer. He'll get along just fine in prison. Give it a few years and he'll be coaching the prison football team.
I just wish everyone would stop with this notion that Sandusky's prison stay is going to be like gang rape every day. He'll probably thrive in there once he's acclimated to prison life.
As with all evil monsters. He will get his in the end.
JS can rot in hell, but I'd rather see it done by judicial action than his fellow criminals.
IIRC, SCI Rockview (near Bellefonte, where the trial took place) is where Pennsylvania's execution chamber is located. If justice really was served, he'd be headed there rather than protective custody, where he most likely will end up.
How about soap-on-a-noose-rope?
I don’t have much sympathy for Sandusky, but it’s a sad indictment of our prison system that this sort of thing happens.
If prisoners have unsupervised time to engage in this type of behavior, then they have time to find and exploit weaknesses in the system or otherwise generate mayhem.

No no... he's a pedophile - - you can't mention that he's a homosexual pedophile. That's not the type of thing you can say out loud.
For example, you never see the word "homosexual" in any Sandusky stories from the Democrat "mainstream" newsrooms, do you?
Real men don’t care what happens to him in prison. We do hope it hurts though.
Given this I don't think he'll have many problems if he keeps a low profile and doesn't piss the wrong people off. I think many of the retributive assaults tend to take place in max security joints and are committed by inmates with not much to lose.
Anyone in a minimum security prison has, by definition, quite a lot to lose as they would probably lose their comparatively plush surroundings if they staged an assault (and got caught).
