Is “sausage or pepperoni” the new “boxers or briefs”?

Pizza Hut is offering free pies for life to the brave voter who asks the White House contenders which of the two favorite toppings they prefer during the next presidential debate.

"We recognize there are a lot of serious issues to be debated, but we also know a lot less serious — but no less important — ones are being discussed every night inside houses across the country," Pizza Hut executive Kurt Kane said in a statement.

“Cheesy” or not cheesy would have more to do in my mind with whether you want to make a bad pun (get it?).

I’m not changing anything, and even if you find election debates “tacky” which is a weird enough view for someone dedicated to elections and politics, it still has nothing to do with a corporation making a “cold blooded” or “emotionless”, or a “clear-eyed” or a “planned, calculated” business decision to attempt to disrupt the national debate in front of 50 or 60 million viewers for free guerrilla advertising.

This isn’t frivolity by an individual, or something spontaneous, this is a corporate business decision.

You say you didn’t change anything, but anyone interested can look it up and see that you originally called the move “tacky,” now say tackiness doesn’t matter, and prefer to use loaded terms like “coldblooded.” You, sir or madams, are an argumentative cheater.

By the way, why is it “weird” to think elections and politics are serious but debates aren’t? Am I obligated to care about endless repitition in stump speeches, spin doctoring on MSM shows, glittering generalities at the conventions, and everything else we occupy ourselves with to avoid thinking about reality outside the game?

Good lord man, many words describe it, it is tacky just like I said, I also called it “an anti-American stunt”,”this cheap shot”, “an assault”, “extremely tacky and exploitative”, “cold blooded”, “emotionless”, “clear-eyed”,“planned, calculated”.

I haven’t changed anything, and as I said, it is not about “frivolity” This isn’t frivolity by an individual, or something spontaneous, this is a corporate business decision.

I was a manager for Pizza Hut in the early to mid-80’s. The pizza was actually good quality then.

Adjusted for inflation the price of a 1980s pizza would be $40. Most customers today want cheap, not good. Quality will come back in fashion some day.
