A 10-year-old Mexican girl has given birth to a baby boy after a 31-week pregnancy, according to reports.
The premature infant, which weighed 3.3 pounds, was born by Caesarian section at the Women’s Hospital in the city of Puebla and is in the intensive care unit recovering from pneumonia.
The young mother, who is from the nearby San Francisco Totimehuacan community, has returned home after the procedure but visits the baby every day to breastfeed, officials said.

Looking through the local court calenders, one can’t help but to be struck by the number of child molestation charges that have Hispanic sounding names associated with them.

If she’s physically mature enough to conceive and give birth, then she’s able to breastfeed, other things being equal.

Who is to say she was raped/molested?? Girls are becoming sexually active at that age. Sad yes but it is the reality out there. Must be something in the water also..all those synthetic hormones...when 12 year old girls have d cups.

I've read that in Mexican Indian culture (who are many if not most of the Mexican immigrants here in the USA) very young marriage of girls (14 or 15) is the norm. Historically that has been typical in pre-industrial societies world-wide (the virgin Mary was probably only 14 or 15, as we know this was the case in ancient Palestine). Even in American history, 200 years ago a 20 year old single woman was considered an old maid...and 15 or 16 was the norm--marrying a man in his 30s.
Even the high-society "coming out" parties, now done at age 18 (but originally younger) started with the idea that "hey, this girl is available for courtship now!"
It seems that in hard-scrabble subsistence agricultural societies, all family members had to pull their weight--and as soon as a girl finished puberty--they married her off. What is sad is that Mexico, among much of her population, subsistence agriculture is still prevalent...and this is still the case.
What's really sad is that this 10 year old's rapist is probably a much older man, who--given Mexico's incredibly corrupt system--will likely get away with it Scott free.
If she’s 10, she was raped. A 10 year old cannot consent. There are things that are right and wrong and that one’s wrong.
I have to suppose they did notice she was pregnant.
Otherwise, why would they have done a cesarean?

14 year-olds in Florida hide their pregnancies, give birth to children in toilets, and strangle them to death before mom finds out.

this happens much more often than we are told about and we are being told about this today to get Romney on his pro-life stance and to support Biden in his obvious plans to work up the whole war on women thing tonite.

Lots of things, but a major one is the almost universal celebration of sex between people who aren’t ready, for a variety of reasons, to be parents.
At least the Mexican girl’s baby is alive.
