Total consumption of beer in the U.S. has fallen for the third straight year, according to a report published by the Beer Institute, a beer lobbying group. Since 2008, total beer consumption has fallen by as much as 11% in some states. Americans still, however, consume a massive amount of the foamy beverage an estimated 6.3 billion gallons in 2011. Nationwide, 28.3 gallons of beer a year were consumed for every American of legal age.

Many residents from nearby states purchase booze there to avoid high taxes. A certain state that loves the Kennedys, especially.

I’m originally from Delaware. We used to have to hit PA or MD to get any beer on Sunday. Beer is only sold in liquor stores as well, no gas stations or supermarkets.

I brew more than 50 gallons per year, but unfortunately I have a hard time drinking it all. Beer is such a wonderful beverage, though, doing without it is inconceivable.

I live in Dover, and I fondly remember my daughter and me driving to Marydel on a Sunday to get beer when we'd run out on a weekend. The trip was half the fun.

I will help if you want. Give a man a beer and he's got a buzz for an hour. Teach a man to brew, and he's drunk for a lifetime.

That better be a really big draft if it is going to give me a buzz for and hour.
