With friends like that . . . Lindsay Lohan switches support from Obama to Romney

Mitt Romney has picked up hundreds of thousands of new supporters across the country since his commanding performance in last week's debate against Barack Obama.

But he may not be delighted with one of his more notorious new fans - troubled actress Lindsay Lohan.

The star is a longtime Obama supporter, but announced at a Hollywood launch party yesterday that she was switching her endorsement to the Republican candidate.

Before the 2008 election, Lohan repeatedly encouraged her fans to vote for Obama and criticised GOP vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

But now it seems she has changed her tune - and she blames consistently high unemployment for the U-turn.

Speaking on the red carpet at the launch party for Mr Pink Ginseng Drink, the actress said: 'I just think employment is really important right now.

'So, as of now, Mitt Romney. As of now. It's a long story, but you're going to have to wait for that.'

Lohan went on to say that she wished she could have watched the vice-presidential debate between Joe Biden and Paul Ryan, but did not explain why she was unable to do so.

Somebody, on Instapundit, pointed out that if people like Lindsay Lohan, who are typically low information voters, are moving away from supporting Obama, it it means even the biggest voting bloc, the low information voter, is moving away from supporting him.

There is no way Obama is winning, despite what anybody in the enemedia says.

The main article on Drudge right now links to Yahoo News and is very interesting. Normally lots of Dems on there, but this time...tons of anti-Obama comments, including from several independents saying they are switching their votes to R.

Just anecdotal, but never underestimate the “feeling” and mood out there. This is not 2008, and Obama has a hard time. Honestly, even if he has a good debate.....after all Crowley still does get to pick the questions from the audience.....I am not sure if he can turn this around.

I would be hard pressed to think of anyone whose opinion is more worthless than Lohan’s.

Good point!
And Lindsay Lohan represents about as low a low information voter can go ! I would say she represents an information deficient voter! Negative information!
Her walking by a computer probably reduces processing efficiency!

Bit by bit celebrities are giving permission for people to think Obama has lost his cool. It helps.

If Obama loses the bimbo vote the only reliable voting blocks he will have left are blacks, illegal aliens and dead people.
