Saw it at a Drive In when it first came out, I was just a kid and it just blew me away.
A few years later I saw it again on our B&W TV and it's fantastic CinemaScope effects (this before letter boxing) had to be so severly edited I thought I had blinders on.

Some of that scenery you can visit today, I made a Trip to Lone Pine California where parts of this movie was Shot along with Hundreds of other Movies right up to today.

I saw this in the theater when I was a kid when first released. I happened to see the last hour on TCM this morning. It was interesting how they tried to recreate the very wide sceen cinerama effect. It came off pretty well.

This is one of the few Westerns where it’s really the woman’s story as thru line. (I mean Debbie Reynolds.)
