Romney has become all things to all voters. A chicken in every pot, be it Tea Party or not...

Where's Waldo? No, where's Romney.

Who knows where he will be or what political position he will change or pivot on. On one page you look for Waldo, er, I mean Romney, and you find him among a crowd of Tea Partiers, on the next page he is standing among a crowd of moderates, and then on yet another page he is hanging out with Democrats!

Romney will without reservation repeal OdumbaCare! Now he likes the idea of keeping the policy of covering pre-existing conditions, and likes the idea of extending to age 26 staying on the parent(s) health insurance. Who knows what else and how much he will pivot on and decide to keep.

Romney signed a pledge for a federal constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. Then later says that the states should decide.

Romney goes hard core on the issue of illegal immigration, then recently says that he likes Obama's position on not deporting certain illegals who meet a certain criteria and who came here at a certain age. True conservatives were not pleased.

All of this is but the tip of the iceberg. Many threads on far more political positions and Romney's reversals on them have been posted. Rinolist.org - check it out.

The book "Morris Dictionary of Word and Phrase Origins" is a must for every bookshelf. If you peruse its pages, you will find a certain comment from a certain person who said that there are times when some politicians feel the need to rise above convictions.

Romney apparently has felt that need.

Virgil Goode for president and all R's down ballot? Does that sound too bad? Everyone votes as they will. It is up to each to decide.

Hopefully there will be more Tea Partiers in the House and Senate, with the GOP controlling the House and Senate. Even if Romney wins, he (being a RINO at heart) will end up fighting with elected Tea Partiers on a host of issues, thus weakening the Tea Party, as the MSM will side with a RINO over the Tea Party.

But if Romney doesn't win... a clear distinction between the Tea Party in the House and Senate with Obama's policies - would that be a bad thing?

You are welcome to put your principles and the truth in a bound leather book, which you can read over and over again during Obama's next four years. <\NO SARCASM>

As a Christian, all that defines my life, are the principles, morals, laws, and commands of God and his Son Jesus Christ.

I can find no support anywhere in the Bible that allows me to compartmentalize my Christianity and leave it at the door when I enter the voting booth.

I can find no support anywhere in the Bible for situational ethics, much less, situational obediance to God.

Mitt Romney is actively supporting both Abortion (Rape, Incest, Life and HEALTH of the Mother) and the Gay Agenda(Gays in the Military, Gays in the Boy Scouts, Gay Adoption, etc.).

Mitt Romney knows that these are sinful behaviors, even his own church declares it to be so, and the Bible declares that murder is a sin and Homosexuality is an Abomination. He, as a Bishop of his church, is also aware that supporting the sinful behaviors of others, is just as bad and sinful as those explicitly commiting the sin.

The Bible is also clear that when someone continues to choose to sin, after being warned, we are to have nothing to do with them.

So I ask you, as a Christian, should we flaunt the laws of God, because we are fearful of the possible income, or do we hold true to our commitment to our Lord and Savior, be honest, tell the truth, rebuke sin, and vote accordingly?

"Choose ye this day whom you will serve."

“Virgil Goode for president and all R’s down ballot”

You’re statement makes no sense...

You won’t vote for Romney as a matter of your personal principles...Yet you will vote R’s down the ballot.

How can you vote for those down the ballot...all of whom are supporting and will be voting for Romney...in violation of your self righteous principles.

Explain Please! (I suspect Reagan would not be good enough for you)

We are in a war here, we need to win where ever we can, one battle at a time, and this is a major battle, the fight will never be over, but you can help us win this battle, instead you propose to let the enemy win this one.

Your proposal makes you worse than any RINO...why do we need to fight democrats and you too, Obama and the dems are enough, your road map to conservative success would have us driving off a never ending cliff, forever in free-fall.

Obama says etch a sketch too. You agree with Obama. Sorry we do not live in a perfect world.I will take Etch a sketch over the seventh degree of hell any day. Unless you have some other realistic alternative and do not tell me about some third party fantasy candidate.A third party protest vote is meaningless and will teach no one a lesson.

Just more examples of our devolution to the point we only have a choice between a flip-flopping Democrat Socialist or an anti-American Marxist to helm the country.

We’ve arrived at that place of societal ruin, where we see trading one evil king for our own choice of king, as justified and necessary. All of it resting upon a vain hope of having influence on the king of preference and under the reiteration that our survival depends on the crowning of the lesser over the overt.

Nations never recover what they were after arriving at this place in history.

Look, we’re going to have a plateful to cuss with Romney as president. A. Plate. Full.

But, Romney has no record, nor sign, that he is advancing a global Caliphate. Obama leans so radical Muslim, so Left, that he circles around to the radical Muslim, all the way to their extremist Right. Get what I am saying.

This makes any and all our complaints with Romney look, not just small but anti American. Throwing stones may be called for some other day, but really, the duty of America on this day is to support ANY American who can get the foreign enemy out of the White House. His name is Mitt Romney.

Ditto and AMEN.

As for me and my house - we shall serve The Lord.

Watching the the vitriol flare up because you dare state that you put God before country and party and therefore, you will be counted among the ‘enemy’ is very illustrative of where we as a nation and people have arrived.

The day Mitt Romney drops unequivocally, his support for Abortion and Gay Marriage, will be the day I will stand down and quit "bitching" about Mitt Romney.

Not a day sooner.

Isn't that the truth!

And it is truly a sad commentary on conservatives, when on FreeRepublic, the last bastion of uncensored conservative thought and speech, we have come to the point that so many stalwart conservatives, even those who consider themselves Christians, have chosen the path of compromise and pragmatism on conservative principle and refuse to hold Mitt Romney, or any person for that matter, accountable for their actions if they are Immoral, or incorrect where conservative principles are concerned.

Up until 2000, Virgil Goode was a Democrat.

In 2012, he could have tossed his hat in the Republican primary. Instead, in February (when who would be the Repub nominee was unknown) he chose to take the Constitution Party nomination, in order to ensure that, whoever won the Republican nomination, he could split the conservative vote to defeat the Republican.

No thanks. This guy is a Dem plant.

Romney is who we have, for better or worse. If Romney betrays us, then he will have a challenger in the 2016 primary.

As if voting for the Democrat-lite Republicans thrust upon us by the Ruling Class over the last 5 election cycles hasn't driven us off that same cliff in total free-fall.

We've been doing it your way since Reagan left office and we're over the cliff right now pal. We are now devolved to the point that choosing a Democrat Socialist is the Conservative choice over a Marxist.

Tuesday at the RNC should have told every single true Conservative where they will stand under a Romney Regime. Most are too willfully blind, or too afraid of Obama to understand and admit to themselves that both political parties are become an infiltrated singularity. Choice is but an illusion, same as it was in the Soviet empire.

Conservatism has already lost, if it is to survive - it has to think past November.

Did you come up with this while sharing a few bong hits with Axelrod or on your own?

It’s a great imitation of concern-trollism BS, so I commend your satirical skills, but not your common sense if you actually believe it.

Here is how I wrestled with your example of conviction, from sound doctrine. My heart, maybe my soul started to hurt when I came to internalize that it was God Himself who set these two candidates before us, and not a set of principles who brought these two forward. Our kind God has let us see our pitiful state, both as a nation and a people. Even the “better” half of our people are in a deplorable condition. Thus, Mitt Romney comes forth, debatable that he is even Christian. We see the spiritual picture of the “better” half.
Now comes what to do with the obvious. I answered against my will, to one more time accept the fare God has set before me. Evil and Evil Lesser. I chose against the Caliphate enabler, and picked the only one standing who, with our prayers, can remove him.

Thank you, well said. I do firmly believe God’s in charge, and these are our choices for whatever reason. I vote for the one who believes in God and family.

If we don’t all get together and vote for Romney, Obama will win. Emboldened by victory even after all the lies, failures and corruption and with no fear of losing the next election, Obama will act with total impunity. 22 trillion in debt, 15% unemployment, 60% of Americans on welfare and food stamps, full implementation of Obamacare, higher and higher taxes and tighter and tighter government control will be the order of the day. Like Romney or not we must save this nation and remove Obama!

"At no time has Romney waded in with Tea Partiers. He kept his distance and vice versa. After the primary, most tea partiers realized he’s our only shot at ending the Obamanation. Romney has presented a plan that aligns with many tea party goals - reduced spending, debt and deficit reduction, tax reform, etc. Your entire assessment is bunk. Romney is a moderate right politician, and has not at any time in this election cycle pretended to be anything else. He’s a smart, accomplished man, and will serve our country well." -ilgipper

Brilliantly stated. Re-electing Obama affirms Obama's ideology of secularism, his redistribution socialist replacement of a free country, and his pushing us over the fiscal cliff into $20 trillion in debt by the end of his term. There are reasons to support Romney beyond the absolute and dire necessity of firing Obama, but that alone would be enough.

Mitt Romney won't just save us from the decline of the USA, but will right the ship in other ways that give us great reasons to vote FOR him. Romney's never pretended to be hard right or Tea Partier, and for that reason, many of us were skeptical of him in the primaries. But his campaign, his choosing of Ryan, and his debate #1 performance all point to a man who will stand on and affirm basic principles that America needs - like fiscal responsibility, free enterprise, pro-life and pro-liberty. He articulated conservative principles as well as an presidential contender since Reagan.

He will be more conservative that the Bush43 and Bush41 were, and America will be fortunate indeed to get him instead of 4 more years of Obama.

Interesting, so with 20 years of his being a politician, and his being involved in politics and the family business of politics for more than a half century, we not only are to disregard the first 60 years of his politics, but we need to know that he was just faking it when he was a Governor?

All that was a fake out, so that he could reveal the true Romney as a 65 year old president?
