Seattle rescue kitty wins film award [Henri!]

Tuxedo cat Henry, who stars as Henri the Existential Cat in a series of cat videos, won the first Golden Kitty People’s Choice Award for the short film Henri 2, Part De Deux. His director, Seatttle resident Will Braden, picked up the award at the Internet Cat Video Film Festival in Minneapolis.

In a Seattle Times story, Braden revealed that Henri, whose dry sarcasm and seemingly wry facial expressions have viewers rolling in the aisles, was originally a shelter cat.  Henri now lives in a good home and enjoys his acting duties, which include being rewarded with treats for sitting where Braden puts him.

Shelter cats come with an amazing variety of personalities, and can become the perfect companions - whether you're looking for a playful, quiet, or affectionate companion.  Talk with the shelter volunteers before adopting to find the right pet for you.  Who knows what amazing tricks your new best friend could learn?

It’s HUGE. Don’t make this model anymore; haven’t for 10yrs. I bought biggest one available. Figured it’d be fun to fill it up, rather than fill up a smaller one, and have to buy another or stop buying toys. It’s not anywhere near filled up, but everything inside is extremely choice and well chosen. Took a large CAT front end loader to move it in here, empty.

It’ll hold 36 long guns on the left side, with 5 shelves on the right. All ammo is now stored on shelves next to it. LED lights, door hangers, padded shelves. Very plush inside. Dry-stick and special desiccant containers. Note the 105mm and 40mm shells on top. From a USAF Capt/ friend’s AC-130H gunship in Afghanistan. He had some serious nice toys on that gunship.

What a handsome fellow, your Murphy. You gave him hugs and kisses and good food, warm shelter and your love and affection. Murphy is in cat heaven now, and pain free. My Ming Toy, Ginger, Goldy Catz and Fudgie are long gone, and I miss them each and every day. My spouse and I often refer to them, and love to view pics of cats whenever we can...we can no longer physically care for another cat, and it is not the same without a cat pal to love. Keep a picture of Murphy near by, keep him in your heart.

Had an interesting experience after our last cat, Fudgie, died, some years ago. As I was laying in bed one evening, I felt a cat jump up on my bed, which our cats used to do at night, before we retired for the evening. I felt the cat jump up onto the bottom of the bed, walk across the bottom of the mattress and step over my one leg, walk a little further and then step over my other leg, as they were used to doing. I froze when I realized what had just happened..I was not thinking of Fudgie at the time, and looked down at the bottom of the bed. Of course, there was no cat there, as we no longer had a cat. BUT the distinct feeling of the cat's paws on the bed, walking over each leg and then nothing further, after so many year since Fudgie died, is something I still can't shake...something with four paws walked over the bed and my two legs..I was conscious and I knew what was happening. Can't explain it, but I do believe Fudgie came to visit us that one evening. So, you never know. My sincere condolences to you on your loss..your pal will not be forgotten.
