Demossville, Kentucky (CNN) -- The U.S. special operations teams that led the American invasion in Afghanistan a decade ago did something that no American military had done since the last century: ride horses into combat.

Really interesting and inspiring — especially the guy who kept going even with a broken back.

As for learning to ride horses, I’ve tried to encourage my kids who started riding “late” in life (about age 12) that if these adult soldiers can do it, you can, too.
