Romney Will Lose If He Continues To Play It Safe
Rightwing Wing Nuts Blog ^ | 10/26/12 | John Alan

If you only listen to Fox News and Rush Limbaugh you believe Romney is winning. He's not, he's losing. Both Real Clear Politics and Intrade have Obama with 281 electoral votes with 11 days til the election. You only need 270 to win. Intrade predicted every state correctly in 2004 and had two states reversed in 2008.

Move your cursor over each state "click here" to see the candidates chance of winning. Notice Virginia has moved back toward Obama and has more chance of going for Obama than Ohio does of going for Romney. There have been a lot of one-off polls showing Pennsylvania and Michigan in play, however Intrade shows otherwise. Colorado is a toss up and currently leans Obama. Iowa and New Hampshire are trending Obama, while Wisconsin and Nevada are currently dark blue.

This is a far different picture from the one being painted by Sean Hannity, Dick Morris and Karl Rove. So then why is Romney pulling his punches on Benghazi? It's becoming clearer every day Obama refused to send in a rescue mission because he's haunted by the Jimmy Carter failed rescue attempt back in 1980.

I believe the Benghazi scandal has the potential of becoming one of the biggest in U.S. history. So again, why is Romney sitting with his arms folded? Because he's just as risk averse as Obama. He's terrified the media will again accuse him of politicizing the death of these four men. What, and Obama is not playing politics by withholding virtually all information, for nearly two months, until after the election?

Forget about the politics for a moment, only Romney has a megaphone large enough to force the media to get off their butts. The families deserve the truth and the American people deserve the truth. Once the truth comes out, the political consequences for Obama will be well deserved. If people knew Obama did nothing for seven hours while four of our men were being murdered, the election would be over. The problem is most people don't know. Now imagine how you'll feel on Nov. 7th if Romney loses because he played it safe by letting Obama off the hook on Benghazi.

Wow, how short peoples’ memories are. I have a Freepmail from Jim Rob earlier this year imploring me not to criticize Gingrich, because Romney was so terrible. Now you guys are telling me Jim Ron, and all the other Freepers who supported a conservative (or who supported Newt Gingrich) are terrible and should be shunned? This used to be a conservative web site.

Intrade is being manipulated by Obama supporters (probably Soros). By buying Obama lots and pushing those share up, Romney shares automatically fall (this is a zero sum game--a bettor can buy long and sell short--thereby making money on spread--this means that Obama's share price and Romney's will always add up to 100% minus Intrade expenses).

This is still a low volume period for Intrade so it can be manipulated for effect for not a lot of money.

Take a look at volume for Obama and Romney today. Last time I looked (an hour or so ago), the Obama volume is twice what the Romney volume is...yet Obama doesn't have twice the enthusiasm in this country or around the world.

Manipulating Intrade is a cheap and easy form of political advertising for Obama.

Watch what happens 48 hours before the election.

For the record, I think Romney will win by a lot. But he’s still a socialist and hated conservatives. Funny how people who used to be against Romney, now think think he’s the greatest thing ever, and have adopted socialism etc.

Exactly. Romney receives intel briefings now. Not only that the Obama admin threw the intel community under the bus a few weeks ago. Remember Obama doesn’t really like the briefings because he’s so smart, he can figure it out himself??? I was angry too that Romney didn’t go after Obama for Benghazi during the foreign policy debate. Maybe Romney knew what was coming down the pike because he actually attends his intel briefings and decided to let it the forthcoming info do Obama in itself. Smart move if that’s the case. I like it.

The answer is the polls don’t work anymore. The response levels are so low that the narrow interests of special interests are over-represented.

I have come to the same conclusion. Your insight has helped me reach it.

Thanks

I happen to think that the analyses here:

http://www.unskewedpolls.com/2012electorate.cfm

and here:

http://www.unskewedpolls.com/unskewed_projection_2012%20president_02.cfm

have the described situation precisely as it is.

Romney: 53.974%, Obama 46.026% nationally. No one with this margin of victory in the national popular vote has ever lost in the electoral college.

I think you nailed it.

Look at his posting history. Nothing but anti-Romney remarks and threads as far as you can see. Has also tussled with the anti-blog pimp FReepers too.

And now this??

If you only listen to Fox News and Rush Limbaugh you believe Romney is winning.

I'm not sure what is really happening with these state polls, but this statement is correct. Both sides surrogates and supporters seem to believe they are winning. Rush, Hannity, many personalities on Fox, etc, seem convinced Romney is winning and might even run away with it. On the other side, Nate Silver, InTrade, MSNBC, CNN, the networks, KOS, etc, seem absolutely certain that Obama is headed to a narrow election win.

It's weird that both sides are so convinced they are right. Usually one side just pretends to have momentum, but you can tell even they think they are losing. Everyone has been part of that and it's horrible. We all knew McCain/Palin was going down last time, but had to try to keep our spirits up and put on a good show. This time around it genuinely seems like both sides think they are winning.

Dunno, the Unskewed Polls site seems sketchy to me… what the heck is QStarNews, anyway? Never remotely heard of this outfit before.

American on-line betting laws have changed making it very hard for us to use Intrade. Most of those bets are from Europeans and they have no idea what is happening.
