Steve Jobs' Yacht "Venus" unveiled in Aalsmeer the Netherlands (with video)
Mac Daily News ^ | 10/28/2012

“Earlier this year, it was revealed that French designer Philippe Starck was working with Dutch shipbuilder Feadship on a new yacht for the family of Steve Jobs,” Eric Slivka reports for MacRumors. “The yacht had been mentioned in Walter Isaacson’s biography of Jobs as a project he had been working on since 2009, but the ship was not completed before his death last year.”

“Dutch site One More Thing now reports [Google translation] that the ship, christened “Venus”, has officially launched, with Jobs’ widow Laurene Powell Jobs and their three children participating in the event,” Slivka reports. “The aluminum-hulled ship is said to be 70-80 meters in length and features seven 27-inch iMacs lined up in the wheelhouse to help run the controls.”

money didn’t give him good taste in yachts...reminds me of willy bills presidential lib..

I'll give you odds that it will be copied by other yacht builders in the future. . . just as every other Steve Jobs project has been copied.

While I bet the transom does all types of oragami-esque opening, folding, launching, water slides, tenders, platforms - this is the ugliest transom.

The high decks exude elitism - provides safety and security and privacy - allows all on board to conveniently observe the unwashed masses.

Definitely the first - and last - in a series. Remember Halcyon?

> Where are the rounded edges? /s

That was my first thought! Steve was, and Jon is, all about "Rounded Rectangles" and everything Apple makes uses them throughout.

As one who grew up around sailing ships on the Chesapeake bay, the so-called lines of this boat are a horror to the eyes.

I'm really very turned off by it.

“This yacht fits a minimalist mindset...”

I’m guessing I have the wrong idea on the meaning of “minimalist” if it can be used regarding an $xx million dollar yacht!

I like this one better, and it's still pretty ugly..cool using a junked jet to build a yacht though.

That was not a jet.It was a Boeing model aircraft from the late 30s.The lines are so much cooler that that shitbox that jobs had built.

Is it a yacht or a barge?

It's a floating Eichler with a bridge controlled by a row of washing machines.

Samsung should build an exact copy as a joke.

Considering its ugly that probably wont happen.

I just learned that Apple is also the largest hedge-fund in the world. Has $117 Billion in cash being managed by its in-house investment group.
