Say Obama loses the election and then these emails that Gingrich are talking about surface. And then eventually the videos come out.
Obama has LIED to the American people just like Clinton. Even though he wouldn't be around can elected officials still vote to impeach him? Even though it wouldn't be knocking him out of office per se? Just a mark on his record?
What are the ramifications of impeachment?

House of Representatives can indict; Senate is the jury....Bill Clinton was impeached and found innocent by the Senate. A bunch of no-ball bastards.
Yes, technically but to what end? The purpose of impeachment is to remove a corrupt official from office. There’s no point when the official will be leaving in two months anyway. No point in wasting time with comittee hearings, votes, a trial in the senate, etc.
Wouldn’t seem practical or worthwhile. Congress would have to do it in a lame duck session, and the Senate would never go along in either case. With just a few months left in his presidency, it would be spun as Congress wasting the people’s time.
I think better is to just keep this in the headlines throughout the lame duck months and disgrace this guy as much as possible as his presidency winds down...

Forget it.
Wrong-doing must always be prosecuted, even if the perpetrator got away. Otherwise, we set the precedent that you can engage in all kinds of malfeasance while in office, and that you can get off scot free when you leave office.

That’s my line of thought as well. He needs to be punished in some form or fashion by the justice system to deter others from this kind of activity.
The odds on Obama gettign impeached if he loses is zero.
(1) It taskes several months to get an impeachment process going. Not enough time left to make it happen.
(2) The libs would portray it as the Right just piling on and try to make the Repubs look like bad guys (they’d try to do that anyway but this would just give them more ammunition).
(3) Nobody wants to be the one to impeach the first black (or half black) President.
(4) The Repubs would be just as happy to have this thing hang around Obama’s and the DemoCRAPs necks for as long a they can.
Again.... ain’t gonna happen. I wish it would but... ain’t gonna happen.
a more pertinent question is, can he pardon himself?
Actually, Article I, Section 3, 7 says:
“Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.”
Sounds to me like they can impeach anybody who is currently enjoying an office of honor, trust, or profit under the United States. I would think that having the lifetime title of “President”, as well as a pension, would qualify an ex-President to be impeached in order to remove those things.
He could not be called to testify.
He could choose to testify but he wouldn’t.
Seperation of powers.
The House is entirely alone in the proceeding. The defenders of Obama in the House would be the House Democrat leadership and their chosen henchmen.
Obama won’t be impeached. Obama won’t be prosecuted. So it’s a moot point.

Impeachment Charge: Assassination of Ambassador Stephens. Motive: Prevent release of Presidential data related to funding and arming Moslem Brotherhood.
Impeachment maybe not.. but prosecution I think is still possible. I wouldn’t rule that out because we do not yet know all of the evidence.
There are emails, audio recordings and videos that the public has not yet seen.
I’m gonna say no. Look at what happened with Nixon. Instead of pardoning himself his successor did it.
Impeachment is not to be used for prosecution. It is for the removal of an official only. After removal, without the shroud of power over him, an elected official is fully subject to prosecution of any crimes.
