Other Important Issue (The Media and "Analysts" Disrespecting Lin and Tebow)

Posted on 11/01/2012 7:13:09 AM PDT by SarahPalin2012

Look, I've been all about the election. But the other issue that I'm paying attention to at this time is the soft discrimination against outspoken Christian athletes. Lin and Tebow are being disrespected all over when there is OVERWHELMING evidence that they are LIGHTS OUT good competitors. Does it bother anyone else that there are so many stupid people in the world?

I agree completely. I've seen so many go out of their way to get in a slam on Tebow. But I'm not worried about Tim. He is making big money and still has his feet on the ground and his good heart. Sportswriters who bend over backwards to be respectful to the oft-divorced draft dodger “Muhammad Ali” (Cassius Clay) and every Muzzie sure throw elbows to Christians.

I've never been able to adjust to so many people using “disrespected”. I think it sounds so much better to say people were being “disrespectful” to Christians. “He disrespected me” just doesn't sound right.

Hey, I’m doing my part. I completely boycott baseball, basketball and football.

There was a story about the Minnesota Timberwolves recently. They have 10 white players, out of 15. They are being accused of being racists because of this. The article goes on to say, that the NBA had been making such great strides in diversity, until this happened...

WTF? Give me a break....

There's no doubt Tebow is an intense competitor. At the same time, he's a below-average QB who's been crazily over-hyped since leaving college.

Except for the Jacksonville Jaguars, no team (including the Jets & Broncos) is interested in him as their QB, even for a single, low draft pick. And for the Jags, it's more about selling tickets.

And none of that has anything to do with his faith.

See, this is exactly what I’m talking about. Some guy who thinks he knows football spouting off inaccuracies like he knows who is an average or below average QB.

He wouldn’t know a below average QB if Mark Sanchez bit him in the ass.

Yes, it bothers me very much. Lin was run out of town and Tebow is rotting on the bench. But, to their credit, they take it with dignity. Which infuriates the godless, soulless, heartless POS that passes for national media.

What goes around, comes around. And there will be a reckoning.

Of course, the much more rational and believable interpretation of why not a single NFL team (with people who might know a thing or two about being a QB in the NFL) wants Tebow is because of his faith, not his lack of skills.

Yeah, that make perfect sense.

Right, like the Houston Rockets GM and Coach (who should know, according to your standards, about basketball) waiving Jeremy Lin and signing him 10 months later for 25 million. Lin was putting up monster numbers 3 months after the Rockets cut him. Did he just practice a lot in the two months after they cut him or did the Rockets and the league just DON’T KNOW jack?

Your type of thinking gets us into trouble. Like Obama should know what he’s doing right? He was elected Senator and President after all.

You seem to purposefully not mention the name “Mark Sanchez” — because you cannot just state that Tebow is “below average” then leave it at that. Because, then the words “Mark Sanchez” have to be taken into account, and not “Joe Montana”. Or am I a racist against Hispanics?

Let me now borrow from your last line.

Yeah, that make(sic) perfect sense.

I’m extremely disappointed the jets will not give Tebow a chance under center. Sanchez is horrible but they refuse to give the ball to Tebow because then they have to turn the team into a TEBOW style team and gut what they have now....what they have now is garbage though. I am convinced they orchestrated this trade to marginalize Tim and let him slowly be underutilized.

Mark Sanchez is, at best, an average QB. Even worse, when the game is on the line, he almost always shrinks instead of rising to the occasion.

That Sanchez can even be considered "average" says almost as much about the NFL's watered down talent, driven by the expansion of franchises, as it does for his incompetence at the position.

And yet the Jets still won't start Tebow.

Jeremy Lin had a great, but short, stretch with the Knicks last year. How much of that was him vs playing in D'Antoni's up-tempo system? A little of both, I suspect. We'll find out.

But, like other players who rise to the top, other teams have a way of adjusting and exploiting their weaknesses. (In Lin's case, turnovers & defense. For another example, see Cam Newton).

Is Lin and his chronic knee problem worth $25 mil over 3 years? The Rockets think so. Maybe they are right. It matters little to me. But the Rockets also know how to tap the Asian market so there are other considerations beyond basketball skills.

But if martyrdom suits you better than evaluating professional sports skills, then go for it.

And, just remember - when that pimply-faced kid working at Best Buy wishes you "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" next month it is because he and the entire Best Buy corporation are anti-Christian and want to see all public references to Christmas removed from the public square.

But you probably already knew that.

“Disrespect” is indeed a verb, and there’s nothing wrong with saying someone disrespected something.

The Timberwolves thing is so obviously bonkers that I don’t think anyone cares. The rest of the NBA is, like, 80% black, but only too many whites is a problem? And they talk about diversity, but it’s not as if all the white T-wolves are from Indiana. They’re from Spain and Eastern Eastern Europe and such.

Most importantly, the racial makeup of the roster does not sell tickets. I don’t know who invented that motive, but it’s insane. The Wild hockey team is 100% white but no one cares because they suck. The Twins’ stars are white but no one cares because they suck. Winning sells.
