The residents of Staten Island are pleading for help from elected officials, begging for gasoline, food and clothing three days after Sandy slammed the New York City borough.
Were going to die! Were going to freeze! We got 90-year-old people! Donna Solli told visiting officials. You dont understand. You gotta get your trucks down here on the corner now. Its been three days!
Staten Island was one of the hardest-hit communities in New York City. More than 80,000 residents are still without power. Many are homeless, and at least 19 people died on Staten Island because of the storm.
One of the devastated neighborhoods was overwhelmed by a violent surge of water. Residents described a super-sized wave as high as 20 feet, with water rushing into the streets like rapids.
I’m pretty sure Barry Soetoro went to get some pizza.
Whats the difference, you ask?
Not to make light of it, but why is Husein seemingly scoring political points off this storm, when all you heard 24/7 after Katrina was how Bush screwed up N.O.
Bronco Bamma to the rescue!
Damn that Mitt Romney for collecting these items for those people! /s
Staten Island is heavily Italian and GOP. It’s the ‘forgotten borough’ of NYC, so different than the others.
Because the memo went out to say Obama looks presidential.
However, stories like this hurt Obama. His fault. Why ate people eating put of dumpsters?
Who assigns the "points"?
THE SCUM SUCKING LIBERAL PRESS, THAT'S WHO!
So what do you expect?
NYC to be full of little trailers soon?
Bambi will save you.
FEMA, FEMA, where for art thou FEMA.
Have they airdropped EBT cards yet?
They should call MSNBC. Andrea Mitchell says that the storm victims don’t need no food and water like Romney was going to deliver to them.
I wonder if Andrea and her 1%’er hubby are down there rolling up their sleeves for storm victims.
I can guess they are not.
What are they complaining about?
They’re getting a free Springsteen concert / Obama rally.

Mitt Romney was asking and getting donations, but NOOOOO the American Red Cross and the almighty government can do it all. There are many lessons here, but the fault does not lie with people of New York and New Jersey.
Put this at the feet of the EPA, a mountain red tape and dependency. The situation is deteriorating rapidly and Obama isn’t helping with his fancy photo ops and words.
I’m still waiting for Zero to slap Craig Fugate of FEMA on the back and tell him he’s doing a great job.
Let’s see...millions without power; hospitals being forced to evacuate; essential items in short supply; near-riots at gas stations, and New Yorkers dumpster=diving for food. Yeah, Barry’s got the situation well in hand.
Obama got in for the photo op and out before the shock turned to frustration and anger.
Anyody who has been near a disaster knows the anger and frustration comes after the shock before help has arrived.
For those who haven't experience it don't bad-mouth these people. Regardless of how prepared you are, sometimes the storms leave people without food or shelter that is ...gone with the wind and storm surge.
Sometimes it has NOTHING to do with personal responsibility...like people clinging to trees with their homes washed away!
