Skip to comments. Why do Dems think all Dems will Vote Obama?

I live in Central California a fairly liberal hot bed. There are almost no Obama bumper stickers, if you do see them it's on the dash board of the car un-peeled. As far as supporters of Obama in 2 years I have met about 10 people who worship the guy, otherwise I would say even the left leaning are pissed off.
On my Facebook page; out 450 friends maybe 4 people are attacking Romney(that's how you support Obama)I would guess 90% change from 08.
My Jewish friends will vote D all the way down the ticket but will no way vote for Obama.
I know one business owner (and I know lots) who is voting Obama.
No one I know who is black is voting Obama!
All 420 smokers are mad as hell at pot smoking Obama who inhaled purposely but then cracks down on the states legal rights.
Gas is frickin expensive in California!
California still has some of the highest unemployment.
Since the 2010 election nothing has gotten better, much has gotten worse. No one predicted the blood bath the left received in 2010, two years later I think this bath it going to knock them off their feet.
Just my personal observations.
Good point. It was the so-called Reagan Democrats that gave him his landslide over Carter and then Mondale. All of this EV by Dems could be misleading if one assumes they are all voting for Obama.
But California will STILL go for 0.
In Ohio, I know a few registered Dems that will be voting for Romney on Tuesday.
But, what I saw at the early voting lines in Indianapolis yesterday leaves me feeling mixed about tuesday. At least 50% of the line was AA’s. The BIG change from 2008 is that no one, not one person, dared to talk about who they were going to vote for. And you could feel the tension in the air.
That is so much unlike what I saw in 2008.
Because that’s the way it normally is. This downgrade of our country though is not normal and there are some democrats that still love their country. But Liberals.... they are arrogant Pieces Of Shitte.
Purely anecdotal...I live in SW Iowa and have around 15 friends who are Dems with whom I talk politics. All but 2 or 3 of them are voting for Romney. I think all of them voted for Obama last time. These are people who would probably be seen as conservative, traditional Dems, many have small businesses. You do raise an interesting question.
Most Dems I know aren’t enthused about Obama, but they’re not entirely disillusioned either. Most I’ve talked to will reasonably acknowledge that he didn’t quite live up to his campaign promises, but they can spin a number of ad hoc hypotheses per why that didn’t happenthe most popular being “congressional gridlock from obstinate Republicans”.
The prevailing marching orders are that Romney is a POS for this or that reason”gonna ban abortion”, “crazy Mormon”, “corporate raider”, “has no feelings”, “liar”, “too upperclass”, etc.so they’re more motivated to vote against Romney than for Obama.
Yes And Romney’s almost as liberal as Obama anyway.
I am confused by your headline.
It appears that you are asking why democrats are not rational or reasoned or thinking individuals.......why?
AA’s? I dont follow, what did you see that was a big change from 2008 that makes your feeling mixed for 2012?
And yet California will STILL overwhelmingly vote for Obama. It won’t even be close. Californians may not be too happy with Obama, but they dislike Republicans more.
Polls seem to show that about 10-12 of Democrats may vote for Romney and — don’t forget about this — a roughly equivalent number of Republicans will vote to re-elect Bonzo.
There are lots of registered Democrats in the south, for example in the Florida panhandle, who will go solidly for Romney.
There are still many registered Republicans in the northeast, for example in the Philly and New York suburbs and elsewhere in New York and Connecticut and New Hampshire, who will vote D all the way.
Look at the current and historic voter registration figures for those areas, and then look at how they have voted and what the trend is; it’s very easy to see.
You have the wrong Jewish friends then. I, for one, will be voting R all the way down the ticket. I've never been a D but I can tell you the Jewish vote is not nearly as solid this year as '08. I would not be surprised if Romney matched Reagan's 1984 share.
polling. The ones who shpw up will go for Obama at a 9 to 1 clip.
I saw video of a Romney rally on Fox News about a week ago with a bunch of attendees all wearing “Democrats for Romney” T-shirts. Anyone remember the Reagan Democrats?
“The BIG change from 2008 is that no one, not one person, dared to talk about who they were going to vote for.”
Very interesting. That has simply GOT to mean that they know some of themselves (maybe not exactly who) will be either voting for Romney or not voting at all in the presidential election. Otherwise, why would there be any tension if they were all happily voting in lockstep for Obama like in 2008?
My feelings exactly. All of this number crunching on the early vote is assuming that the same percentage of rats are voting for zero as they did in 2008. My bet is there are a LOT of defections.
Huh? What is AA? All American? American Airlines?
