Do You Trust Your Unionized Postman in Battle Ground States?
Me | November 4 2012 | RetSignman

In light of several instances of voting 'irregularities' already sited in some of the states, maybe we should consider one that could be critical.

We all know that millions of voters have opted to vote by absentee ballot in battle ground states but the system relies on the American Postal Workers Union to deliver those ballots.

WHAT IF certain zip codes are targeted by the Unionized Postal Workers and they never arrive to their destination?

Think that is paranoia thinking? Just revisit past elections where ballots were found in dumpsters.

Fortunately, many of these battle ground states have links where you can check the status of your ballot, use those sites to affirm your vote.

This administration has had four years to prepare for this election, you've got just days to make sure they don't steal this election.

And that’s the reason why we had our college daughter mail her absentee ballot inside a larger padded manilla envelope to our house. We delivered her ballot in person and dropped it into the absentee ballot box, so that her vote counted for Romney.

I’ve often thought about this...my county has drop off stations that are large metal containers, locked of course...lately, I’ve been dropping our ballots there...

It’s sad that we have to take these kind of measures to be sure our vote counts.

In previous election I also used absentee ballot, not this year, I’m going in person to make sure I’m counted.

Which is why I always drop my ballot envelope in the box on the day before election. Here in WA state 100% of voting is done by mail. But I never mail my ballot. There are drop boxes at the secretary of state’s office, and other government offices. I feel more secure doing that than mailing it a week or more ahead of election day.

I had to laugh out loud when I read this post.

If you think your local letter carried gives a shit about who you are voting for, or will risk his well paying job to delay an absentee ballot, then you have not spent much time around letter carriers.

This is hyperbole at its best.

And if you havent mailed in your ballot yet, it ain’t gonna get there in time.

Me, too. I trust no one with my vote, except myself on election day. Color me cautious.

I do know that in my brother’s city they fired a carrier after they found about a ton of mail (much of it first class) stashed at her house because she “did not feel like delivering it”. She had been caught with illegal drugs in her delivery vehicle and had allowed a non-postal employee to run her route. She had gotten her job because she was related to the head of the local postal union.

Its truly amazing that we can ever garner more than 20% of the vote.

Think about it.

99% of all news, movie, film,tv, magazines, newspapers are staffed by DNC campaign workers.

Now we vote using 100% unionized Federal employees to make sure our vote makes it to the registrars.

See why the DNC wants the FED and UN to control the web?

Show me the newspaper article link for that.

That is a BS urban rumor. It happens about once every five or six years. Tell me what you do for a living and I will find four or five articles regarding someone in the profession doing something wrong.

And there are thousands of letter carries. Pointing out one or two is no more effective here, than it is when a politician says it.

Thinking that every letter carrier is a union thug is just insane. Misdirecting mail or delaying its delivery is a felony and will result in immediate dismissal.

Would you risk that for a single vote?

No? Neither would they.

NO! A few years ago, my wife was dabbling in self employment. She had a potential client list of perhaps 200 names and addresses. She sent out a newsletter and had the good sense to send a letter addressed to each member of our house plus enough other names to make a statistically valid sample.

She took the bundles of newsletters to the post office for mailing. She found that the local serving post office had a poor delivery rate. She experimented with several other post offices before finding one that consistently got her letters through.

We would absolutely never trust a mail-in ballot.

Respectfully, your worries are not warranted in this regard.

I work in a business mail entry unit, plain old political mail, political advertising IOW, gets royal treatment; extra documentation, chain of custody logs, special handling all the way.

The unit supervisor had to come in on her day off Saturday to unlock her office and produce her logs for OIG auditors because a written report filed Friday didn’t match a computer generated report, because a clerk forgot to check a box while inputting a mailing statement for a political mailing.

Actual absentee ballots are inducted into the mailstream immediately upon receipt, following a count verification, even if the postage is wrong the ballots still get sent, we settle up later.

USPS fires people for taking for personal use the undeliverable, thrown away, laundry soap samples and CDs/DVDs that mailers refuse to pay return postage on.

People that interfere with ballots get arrested by inspectors with real badges (gold ones), real pistols and real handcuffs.

There might, might be one lunatic letter carrier, window or bmeu clerk in 10,000 that would screw around with a ballot, but even the lazy ones would still push ballots through just to avoid the unwanted attention from management, OIG, postal inspectors.....

My first absentee ballot vanished into thin air.

Today is the last chance you will have to see if your ballot completed the trip.
