Make you predictions folks for the 2012-2016
Mine: Stop Palin 2.0, GOPe rolls out Jeb Bush.
GOPe will push amnesty for illegals HARD. But there is no reason to do so: the vaunted “Hispanic Vote” had NO BEARING on this (apparent) election victory for Obama.
The GOP-e needs to be dumped.
Any good will I once had for that woman, and I had plenty, dried up long ago. I no more want her as President then I did Romney. But you could be right. The GOP will probably trot Jeb out and try to stick him down our throat.
Well, in order to “stop Palin”, she has to, you know, start.

I just want to point out that I predicted like 2 years ago, right here at FR, that Mitt Romney would get the nomination and he would lose in Ohio.
Yeah, Palin will work out as well as Todd Akin.

Palin is not going to run for President. At this point she is too polarizing and couldn’t even come close to winning a general election.
Besides, she seems perfectly happy with her gig on Fox.
We are going to see a lot more Republican Hispanics running for office. The GOP is going to find every conservative Latino they can in order to win some of that voting block.
I don’t believe in idols, but I was very impressed with Paul Ryan and would like to see him run in the next go around. I have have also been impressed with the job Bobby Jindal has done.
A third party is not the solution. It would only compound the electoral problem, as it only facilitates a democrat strategy to divide and conquer. The reality is, we need to do a better job of poaching portions of their base, such as socially conservative African-Americans - which might take some sort of quid pro quo to effect.
Ryan and Jindal are part of the young guard.

Perry was the GOPe check mate against Palin this time, as he stepped in just at the peak of her fantastic, outsider bus campaign and squashed her window of announcement, the only way that she could have penetrated the Romney/Rove machine.
I notice a few of our old Romney/Rove, establishment trolls, on this very thread, some things never change.
Good luck with that strategy. That voting block will cling to their Obamaphones with their cold dead hands.
I think Palin had a gut feeling not to run in 2012. I think she will consider to run in 2016 when over half of the country is eating out of trash cans
so the old meme, palin is ‘too polarizing’...so we trotted out yet another RINO, moderate, etc...and he lost...
folks are afraid of sticking up for their conservative values, palin isnt, and one of those values is her family, so she didnt run this time.
i have no problem with her in 2016, unless one of you goobers can point out someone who has conservative credentials out the wazoo, who isnt ‘poloarizing’, too much for you namby-pamby types.....i will pin my hopes on her...
we cant do any worse than we have the last two folks we stuck in there....both lame, boring, and ineffectual....
The GOP would rather lose than allow itself to be taken over by “TEA party types”.
Yes, there have been a few “clunker” candidates put up by TEA party voters, but who can forget their success on the whole in 2010? Had the push continued, we could have seen a radically different 2012 election cycle.
But the GOP establishment wasn’t going to allow that to happen. See, TEA party folks want results, and it’s so much easier playing “loyal opposition” and not having to deliver. Oh sure, they like winning, but not at that price.
So, the establishment is going to fight tooth and nail against Palin or anyone remotely like her — outsiders who want to break up the “good old boys” networks and actually do things for the voters.
And as usual, we conservatives will probably let them get away with it by squabbling amongst ourselves over who is the “perfect conservative” and splitting our support to too many people, most of whom don’t have the ability or organization to win a race of that scope even if they had the support.
