The scariest thing about Obama's win tonight: the Supreme Court (vanity)
Nov 6, 2012 | Me

Posted on 11/06/2012 9:32:49 PM PST by Joseph Harrolds

There will almost certainly be two retirements on the Court, and possibly as many as four by 2016...and the Democrats control the Senate. Obama will be able to pack the Court for the next 20 years.

Just my cheery thought of the night :-(

What we definitely lose is a chance to replace Ginsburg and Breyer, and thus finally get the conservative majority Reagan and Bush I failed to deliver. Obama will now easily replace both of them with justices every bit as left wing, or even more so.

If we’re lucky, Scalia and Kennedy will remain healthy and stick it out for at least four more years. But even if they do, I’m not convinced we have much chance in 2016 either. I mean, the country just reelected a terrible president. So what if things are as bad or worse in 4 years? It obviously doesn’t matter. The electorate will likely be less than 70% white in 2016. So what chance do we have then?

At most we can hope to maintain the status quo, and hope that Roberts and Kennedy don’t stray on the big issues. But I think we can kiss goodbye any hope of ever getting a conservative Supreme Court. That dream is dead.

They can’t live forever, and since the GOP won’t be winning the presidency any time in the foreseeable future, the loss of the Supreme Court is inevitable — although with traitors like Roberts on there it has actually been lost already.

I disagree. When you have a president who repeatedly and blatently rules by decree (unconstitutional mostly) the SC is a neutered dog and irrelevent.

You are right, and why, in other post, I have said that America is finished.
God only knows who he will appoint in the next four years.
If you think the first two lezbo Commie clowns are bad, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Yes, the country is terribly divided - One side wants essentially a different liberal (read living - let men change it when they are elected) Constitution and the other wants to preserve the one we have from the founders of this great country. If the Supreme Court goes liberal and disregards the Constitution (as our President has) then it might be the start of a major breakup between the States.

Actually, nothing looks very good for the future.

The scariest thing about Obama's win tonight: the Supreme Court

CJ John Roberts. Sandra Day O'Conner.

These were two solid Republicans appointed by Republican presidents. What real difference does the president's party really mean??

How long until evangelical Christianity is outlawed as hate speech?

Within a decade would be my guess.

I’m not sure Breyer leaves. By 2016, we’ll have 12%+ unemployment and people will be begging for the GOP.

The only thing missing is the stinking corpse and that will be around soon enough.

If it is not done yet it needs to be put out of its misery soon and I believe some one will oblige that... “I’ll have much more flexibility in my second term.”

I expect that many will die before the next four years are over.

And the Democratic voters in their millions (along with deluded "independents") will still be blaming Bush.

We said people would be wanting the GOP this election. People continue to surprise me with their ignorance and entitlement attitude. We’ve reached a threshold in this Country....they will continue to vote for more entitlements. They will kill the golden goose.

Not just the Supreme Court. District and Circuit courts too. All with lifetime appointments. Obama’s judges will be legislating from the bench for the next 30 years.

With Harry Reid keeping control of the Senate, there will be no way to stop even the most Marxist appointments Obama picks.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

CNN and MSNBC will be telling them it's 4% and the economy has never been better, and they'll believe it.

If at anytime in 2016 it looks like the Democrat nominee will lose, I think Breyer will go ahead and retire.

But even if things get worse, I wonder if it will matter? Yeah, Romney probably could have run a better campaign, but come on! Obama is terrible. His one success was allowing the Navy Seals to do their thing. He should have been tossed out in a rout, but instead he wins a comfortable electoral college victory. Certain segments of the population - growing segments unfortunately - will simply never vote Republican.

I admit I’m pretty down right now though.

Yup, the U.S. justice system will be the most corrupt in the world, if it isn’t already.
