An Open Letter to the Queen of England
FaceBook ^ | Nov. 6, 2012 | Edwin R Williams

Your Majesty,

We, the people of the former American colonies, would like to offer our most sincere apology over that little misunderstanding we had 236 years ago. Had we known that we were going to be subjects anyway, we could have saved a lot of trouble and hard feelings.

We were under the mistaken belief that we would be free, sovereign citizens; we believed that our hard work would yield its own rewards without someone coming along and taking what we built in the name of “Fairness”. We thought our laws and Constitution would protect us from a foreign born dictator, and our freedom to worship would prevent us from becoming a corrupt, morally bankrupt society (silly us).

Little did we know that our own free press would intentionally sabotage, deceive and withhold the truth from us in order to reelect a Socialist that still holds distain for our nation and contempt for its founding principles. Nor did we believe that there would be so many citizens dependent on government handouts that they would blindly elect an unqualified charlatan, let alone reelect him.

Anyway, Your Grace, we are truly sorry and humbly sincerely beg your forgiveness. If you can find it in your heart to forgive us and take us back, we promise never to trade British oppression for Socialist tyranny again.

Your most humble servants,

The American People

Didn’t it used to have to be that you had to be a property owner?

I could see that, or requiring military service or having a job.

But you know that now the chance for that is long gone.

It’ll NEVER happen under this regime.

a Property owner can be a person who didn't earn the right on their own. I can name any number of rich kids who are leftists -- in fact if you read through history you'll see that many were actually from the upper classes.

The lessons in history are clear -- when the Roman republic had a "you gotta be in the army" replaced with "we'll give you free bread for doing nothing", they started relying more on mercenaries

Take something closer in time -- the ending of the draft gave a number of people no sense of gratitude

Let me put it this way -- we are saying no to further immigration, but I would prefer having skilled immigrants who WANT to be American rather than kids here who did nothing but were born American and think they have the right to burn the flag.

The immigration laws in this country are so perverted.

They need MAJOR overhaul to make it easier for the immigrants who are willing to work for their citizenship and will contribute positively to this country and much, much harder for the illegals who are destroying it with crime, violence, and sucking off the government teat.

Barack was born in 1961, right? Kenya didn’t get independence from Britain till 1963, right? Barack is British, who else would have the resources to forge his birth certificate if not the Queen of England?

My dear Americans, your wish to return to the Empire will soon be granted, by the Queen’s subject - Barack Obama.

Thank you :)

To the American People:
No apologies accepted here. You didn’t want to be under our rule so what you have is your problem, not ours.
No, it is not possible at this late date to correct the past. What is done is done, live it or die with it. We have our concerns to deal with and don’t need more.

You’ve traded freedom for license, permissiveness for liberty and count it a great thing not knowing you’ve traded down and not caring any more.

You have your drugs, your pornography, your hedonism that like a huge machine rolls over every principle, every virtue proclaimed in your revolt. You remember the words but not the meaning. Live with it.

You’ve consumed your seed corn and are now fighting over the last few grains. You’re on your own. We have our own problems to address.

Her Majesty, The Queen.

PS: You blighters still can’t correctly pronounce Aluminum anyway so it just would not work. XOXOXO....

The best systems are Australia or Canada — points based. Right now, it’s not worth it for skilled immigrants to come to the US. They want to and many still believe, but many are going to Canada instead.

Britain’s Islamic population is growing quickly but for the moment, it’s still a fairly small minority across the country.

Was in London two weeks ago. It is no longer located in England. The Muslim population is growing big time in London. Drive two hours north of London if you want to find England.

Am I though only one who realizes the United Kingdom is significantly more socialist than the US? They pay much higher income and sales taxes than we do, they have universal healthcare with no private insurance whatsoever, most media is government owned and controlled, and they have a much larger welfare state.

So...when are we going to take back our party from the squishy, ‘let’s all get along’ center-right? Compromising conservative principals is what got us into this mess to begin with, know what I mean?

Dear The American People,

I am sure that my government would be delighted to reclaim the United States of America and let bygones be bygones.

Being the nation that basically invented socialised healthcare, makes you pay the equivalent of $230 every year for having a television to pay for the BBC, has some of the toughest anti-gun legislation in the world, last year paid $17.25 billion to the European Union, is probably going to legalise gay marriage in the next five years and has actual, proud-of-it socialists as Members of Parliament, I say welcome.

We will get along just fine.

Yours sincerely,

The Queen.

Character has always been more important than intellect, moral integrity more important than might.

Societies arise and decline in rather predictable patterns.
From chaotic groups of individuals leaders arise who assert a strong moral force that units the individuals into a whole.
Widely accepted and followed morals and character produce a strong and cohesive society which in turn becomes materially successful and strong.

Success brings comfort and wealth which in turn makes the sacrifices and hard work of the past less attractive to the generation of those who have not earned what they eat.

Reward and virtue become separated and morality declines until it is viewed as a hindrance to be overcome. Society becomes divided into advantage seeking fractions and eventually war with one another to gain more or keep what they have.

Chaos results and society collapses.

Arnold Toynbee, a historian, famously observed that 19 of 21 notable civilizations perished not from outward assault but from internal moral decay.

So let me make sure I understand the fantastic logic going on here. You want to become part of a country with:

1)Nationalized healthcare (which is not what we have here... we still have to pay for it and it is run through private insurers)
2) Exceptionally strict gun control
3) Surveillance cameras on basically every street corner
4) Heavy subsidization of public television
5) Free abortions
6) Significantly higher taxes
7) Higher debt per/capita
8) Weaker military
9) Large Islamic population
10) A more liberal population with a strong welfare state

This is grade A quality irrational thinking. **Slow Clap**

Actually, I think you are considerably worse off. The British colonial administration may have been “tyrrannical”, in the sense that its ultimate direction was controlled from London rather than the colonists themselves, but at least it was a benign one. They weren’t consciously trying to drag the land and people into ruin, which is what your current administration seem bent on doing.

I’ve lived in UK all my life. I pay 23% income tax, I claimed unemployment for only a few months, I have private insurance (in addition to the usual national insurance), there are about 5 state-owned tv channels out of hundreds and the most popular newspaper in the country is owned by Rupert Murdoch. All of this information about my country is available for free on Wikipedia.

Dear Colonials,

Thank you for your kind words. One’s most impressed.

Here are some reasons to leave the USA and come to Britain:

1. I get far more deference to the Queen from a ruddy Disney movie than I’ll ever get from a Brit. No idea why that is, but if I ever tried to be as despotic as an American President my subjects wouldn’t bugger about; it’d be sharp axes on Tower Hill all over again. I can’t chance it at my age. You’re safer with me.

2. My grandsons not only joined the armed forces, they fight on the front line and do the heavy lifting just like everybody else. Keepin’ it real, fo’ sho’.

3. The TV license is all anybody ever has to pay for dozens of TV channels and lord knows how many radio stations. If you like the same five films showing 24 hours a day every day enough to pay for Sky, then you can pay more. Decades of the “if we had as many commercial TV channels with as many commercial breaks as the USA then so much of it would be crap adverts being interrupted by even crappier programs we’d all give up on TV and watch box sets instead” jokes have actually come to pass. This is why I do more interesting stuff all day long, like opening garden fetes.

4. Healthcare. Don’t fret too much. The coalition government have decided that socialized medicine costs too much and doesn’t deliver so they’re selling it off piecemeal. By the time you get your visas we’ll still have crap healthcare but it’ll be twice as expensive and it’ll be privately run. So I’m told.

5. If you think that’s a joke, consider our transport infrastructure. Private railway companies get more in subsidies than the nationalised network used to get - but thanks to their massive efficiency savings they’ve been able to, er, quadruple the fares since taking over. This is why I used to have my own. Welcome to the free market, UK style. “Free Market Drives Down Costs” - we need some of you Americans to come back and show us how that works so I can get my own train, plane and yacht back! I’ve never had to spend money in my life, so buggered if I know how that works.

6. I need you religious types over here STAT. Over here we have an Established Church which apparently I’m the head of, but as it’s Part Of The Establishment so everyone takes the piss out of it. I noticed we now have Christian TV channels on Freeview, but someone’s put them in the high numbers, near “Gay Rabbit”, the horse racing channel and the Arab stuff.

But I’m rambing. You’re welcome to come home, you prodigal shavers! No guns though. Guns are for show, knives for a pro. Unless you like shooting grouse. We don’t have many moose walking around the estates.*
