Chain of command. Didn't we hear that excuse in Benghazi, too?

This is a “story” taken from a faux news blog that’s trying to be like the Onion.

If democrats were able to count on the military votes to be reliably democrat majority, then they would be raising all kinds of hell about getting those votes counted, but only if Obama had lost.

If would be a major case of disenfranchisement of their voters, which would cause the votes to be recounted, in all states that had close voter counts.

he Duffel Blog serves the men and women of the US Military with a daily dose of military humor, funny military pictures, and faux news. We take an interesting and funny look at military life. We focus on veterans, military stories, defense, politics (sometimes) and life on base — with a comedic twist. We are in no way, shape, or form, a real news outlet. Just about everything on this website is satirical in nature.

Please tell me that this is not true. I don’t think I can take any more. However, there is no assurance that this would have changed the election, even if they had been delivered on time. The miltary vote split in VA. I know of at least one military vote in my precinct in WI that was cast for Obama, because when the ballots come in on paper, we have to remake them on ‘official’ ballot paper (Bristol board) so that they can be fed into the machine. So, we don’t know that these votes would have changed the election.

Whoever (in the Army) who marked this shipment AMMO should be mustered out forthwith and should be first in the unemployment line. He’s too dumb to be in charge of defending our precious nation.

This isn’t real. Look at the author’s description at the bottom of the page. Suggest it be taken out of breaking news before too many Freepers race off to repost.

IN REALITY: Way back in the Kennedy/Nixon election a guy named James Braughton managed to reroute all the campaign material for Nixon onto a freight train going to the West Coast. That was in the days before the universal shipping container so the boxcars were in no danger of ending up in China, but it sometimes took a month to get freight from Chicago to the West.

It worked and everybody ended up short Nixon campaign handouts.

Jim received an appointment to a high position in the old Post Office Department under Postmaster General Larry O'Brien, who was himself formerly Kennedy's campaign manager!

Jim gave the appearance of being dull witted and thuggish, but over the years he managed to keep his job by doing his job, but he really was thuggish. One day he called me up and asked me to come look at his office ~ otherwise he didn't like me ~ and I didn't even work for him.

I looked in his open door and noticed a bullet hole in the double paned glass window behind his desk. He was waiting on the Inspection Service to come and dig the bullet out of the wall in front of the desk.

He thought it was funny ~ he had REAL enemies ~ and he didn't want me to miss out on this one.

When it came to postal business I never had a day of trouble with the man ~ he did know the business which is why he knew, even as a lowly dispatch clerk, where to send Nixon's campaign literature.

Over the years I heard of other such behavior but virtually all of it involved catching someone trying to do it. Can't recall a case of anyone ever getting away with it outside of Jim.

The truth is people try this ~ but more commonly the printer a candidate hires to do his literature will get lazy and simply toss it on the some back dock of the closest postal facility ~ which really is the wrong way to do it. It'll set there a week or so before someone realizes "hey, that's mail" ~ no, you don't get refunds.
