Obama now facing new urgent task

Obama’s list of promises to keep includes many holdovers he was unable to deliver on in his first term, such as rolling back tax cuts for upper-income people, overhauling immigration policy and reducing federal deficits. Six in 10 voters said in exit polls that taxes should be increased, and nearly half of voters said taxes should be increased on incomes over $250,000, as Obama has called for.

“It’s very clear from the exit polling that a majority of Americans recognize that we need to share responsibility for reducing the deficit,” Maryland Rep. Chris Van Hollen, the top Democrat on the House Budget Committee, told CNN. “That means asking higher-income earners to contribute more to reducing the deficit.”

Obama won even though exit polls showed that only about 4 in 10 voters thought the economy is getting better, just one-quarter thought they’re better off financially than four years ago and a little more than half think the country is on the wrong track.

But even now, four years after George W. Bush left office, voters were more likely to blame Bush than Obama for the fix they’re in.

If the house republicans had a pair, they wouldn’t let so much as bill naming the Podunk post office pass...

No mention of restraining spending.

Good old AP dropping right into lockstep. Seig Heil!

75% not better off finanical, more than half on wrong track, yet the exact same people sent back to DC. Crazy. Also the 4 in 10 who think things are getting better? Those are your dependency class. No one in the real world would claim this. I would also be interested in the other 6 of 10, how many said no, and how many said they didn't know either way. Those who weren't sure were the swing in this election. They bought the sunny talk from the media/Dems, even though it didn't match their own situations.

Sure. 6 in 10 voters don’t pay taxes anyway. Whatta they care.

Obama now facing new urgent task

Trying to decide where his next luxury vacation at taxpayer expense will be?

This is like:
You helped out your irresponsible uncle or maybe he was responsible but he hit on hard times... You opened up your home and took him in and you bought his groceries and paid the power and water and electricity bill for him to stay in your home. Then one day, he says you know, you need to get a second job and give me a little more because it’s only fair. Because you are “rich” and I am not.

Keep in mind he's not very bright, so he can handle only one small thing at a time. That's why his transcripts are locked up. If he were as exceptional as the press and his worshipers claim, you don't think they'd keep them secret do you? His ego wouldn't allow it.

“..majority of Americans recognize that we need to share responsibility for reducing the deficit...”

That is parasite speak for “achievers have to cough up more money for my free stuff.” The parasites pay no federal income tax so what is this “share” crap out of those leaches?

You think the “share” will come from parasites giving up their Obamaphones, food stamps, subsidized housing, subsidized transportation, welfare check, unemployment checks, free medical, student loans, etc. etc.?

Or the fat in the Federal budget could be cut.

But cutting the waste and harmful programs is not an idea likely to fly with this Administration.

The exit polling means little compared to the fiscal responsibility message the American people sent by electing a Republican House. Now is the time to honor that request.

And the president promised to cut spending and fix the economy. Was the president lying? \sarc
