Did Winning The Elections of 2010 Cost The Republicans In 2012?
The most immediate impact of the Republican victory in 2010 was that Obama was forced to agree to an extension of the Bush tax cuts for two more years.
His own Marxist impulses were also kept in check by the Republican House.
The net impact of this is that it allowed the economy to grow, albeit at a tepid pace... but just enough to make people think that things were getting slightly better.
If Pelosi had been left in power after 2010 to act as Obama's rubber stamp on his Marxist policies, the economy would have spiraled out of control, and presumably handing the election to the Republicans in 2012.
So the irony is that the great victory of 2010 may have had the inadvertent effect of handing victory to the Dems in 2012.
More Bush gave us Obama, the Tigers gave us the Giants, bullcrap.
The GOP had better make sure to throw the 2014 elections, if they want any hope of winning in 2016!
Yes, probably. I was thinking that it would probably have been better for this country if the dems took the House of Reps also. Because, although the damage they would have inflicted would have been more severe, at least they would have no excuses when they failed.
On the other hand, times are so critical, we might not have had an intact-country to win back if that were so.
No good options and no easy choices here.
Puhleze, the blame lies in Romney and Rove.
They were in it for the money, barely every spoke
up about THE FACTS (except at the first debate),
and refused to let Gov. Palin speak at the Convention.
It is Romney’s fault.
They don’t need control of the House to rig an election
It’s the RNC’s fault.
And my thought is, if we want to change the party, it’s up to Texas to do it.....We gave Romney 1/5th of his total Electoral Vote count....and yet, we didn’t have a voice as to who the nominee was....The Texas delegation has great leverage they can use to get concessions from the RNC, or else we walk and take our 38 Electoral Votes with us, and I guarantee if we do, other States will follow. That to me is the best hope for changing the GOP.
Ihe Republican House dismal performance after being given majority status sure didnt give anyone somthing to vote for or believe in. They basicly gave Obummer every dime he wanted while misleading the citizens on faux cuts.
The republican party needs to be dissolved or purged of its massively stupid leadership.
The republican house gave us the debt and deficits and the liberty killing NDAA. They are as much enemies of the people as Obama is.
Nominating a RINO turd is what did the trick.
No more establishment rino turds.
Rand Paul is a pretty good guy. His father is a loon. I did like his audit the fed idea though.
“....we might not have had an intact-country to win back....”
We may never have an intact country to return to. If we could not win back the country in 2012, with all the negatives that Bronco Bama had going for him, then there is no hope of converting that fevered margin back to our way of thinking. The perpetual Santa Claus mindset has succeeded.
But the people with the perpetual Santa Claus mindset are not uniformly distributed. They tend to collect in great concentration on the Left Coast and in the northeast corridor, and in isolated enclaves elsewhere.
Simple solution: divide the country according to the “red” or “blue” localities, and run them as two different countries. Or six. Or thirty, if that is what it takes. There is one huge, nearly contiguous “red” country, plus all these much smaller “blue” pockets.
Let the Santa Claus mentality run all the “blue” regions, by whatever set of cockamamie rules they deem acceptable, and adopt updated versions of the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution as the founding documents of the new “red” America.
This may involve some really crafty strategy and some open hostility before it could be adopted.
I said all along that 0bama would go all out to steal this election and he did. The GOP “Leadership” won’t do anything about it and 0bama has know that all along.
Conservatives actually appear to have had a great year at the state level.
First, I want to reject, and encourage to all others to reject, the notion that conservatives are red and liberals are blue. This is double-speak that the sneaky, conniving liberals somehow forced on us. We are true blue to the Constitution. They are red commies even if they don’t know it.
Second, I will not concede 1 inch of territory to those Bolsheviks. I want to reclaim it all — from sea to shining sea.
Third, the best way for us to peacefully co-exist with less conservative elements until there is a paradigm shift in thinking by said liberal elements, is to push more of the decision-making down to the states as our forefathers intended. If California wants pot-smoking and homo marriage, let them. In Texas, we think differently. Viva la difference. However, this also means resisting federal encroachment in powers not delegated by the Constitution. This resistance should be done initially through the political process and courts. Failing that, we can employ nullification and other delaying tactics.
If the conservative-leaning states unify behind these principles and the more liberal states accept increased local autonomy, then we will have more harmony as a people.
We have the means to right this ship and restore the proper balance of power, we just have to be committed to the task.
So far on FR I've seen blame placed on:
No. Most voters are just too ignorant to recognize that most jobs are created by entrepreneurs (who take advantage of good fiscal policy at the state level).
In the pop-culture idiocy of today, an uncurious voter tends to believe jobs are “created” from above, by the almighty hand of the Federal government. After all, the Feds print the money so it’s all theirs to begin with. We peons are only borrowing it.
I don’t think there are in numbers to do that in Paul supporters. If there were things might have bern different. They are only loud bully sounding. Besides the fraudsters don’t need the actual physical presence of any group voting to commit fraud.
If you love your country Obama should not be allowed to take his second term and don’t let the fraudulent court system decide for you.
