The fact is that in the case of Hurricane Sandy a huge percent of those who died, would have survived had they taken the storm's capacity for the destruction it wrought seriously. The problem is that weather forecasting not being as accurate as it could be, have reinforced the notion that evacuation, preparation is not high on the priority list because of its less than perfect record in predicting weather accurately. And so with every severe weather report that turns out to be less than expected, the ability to motivate people to evacuate gets harder with each less than compelling weather forecast.
And in the same way people are doing even less in preparation for the coming Obamageddon, in protecting themselves, learn to survive in a pre-industrial type existence not seen in centuries. The forums here offer that kind of advice, knowledge, wherewithal. Good Luck, All.

(All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing)
The media, as usual, failed to inform the people on Sandy. Sandy was a carbon copy of Hurricane Ike. They should have run scenes from Ike’s destruction and said “This is what Sandy is going to do.” I think it would have been a little more persuasive.

(Once again I wasted my vote. But I have learned my lesson.)
Any word on what the death toll has been?
I haven’t heard anything.
