Paltry raises...some decent bonuses. 401(k) has been mostly flat...balance increasing only because I'm a regular saver and get a good match. Overall buying power is definitely lower, given higher costs of healthcare, insurance, energy. Did manage to refi to a 15-year mortgage at 3.25%.

Fortunate, because I know many who are much worse off.

Why is there never a “hell no” option on these polls? </sarc>

Since Obama, my BC/BS premium has gone from $300/mo to $672. (Got that greeting Nov. 2.)

Next day, I get the news that the Minimum Allowable Deductible for my HSA has been raised by $50 friggin dollars, making future tax savings go out the window.

And then....there’s the new hike in Medical Deductions on your tax return. Goes from 7.5% og AGI to 10% IIRC.

“401k”

I am up the exact amount my employer matches. Financially, I am ok. No debt except the house, with good equity for now, and pay off the credit card every month. still buy too many ‘things’ though. haha.

Nope. Retired without a pension, and getting very, very little income from the money I’d managed to save. Not quite dog food for dinner time, but let’s just say I haven’t eaten so much ramin since my college days.

On the bright side, I was way ahead of the current curve — necessarily went Galt a couple of years ago.

I just got the announcement from my employer that the FSA maximum has been reduced down to only $2500. That alone will increase next year’s tax bill by around $600. As for our premium increase, they were actually afraid to tell us. We’ll have to wait for now and find out later. Meanwhile, I see our emergency room co-pay has been eliminated, meaning that the normal deductible applies. And our list of health plan doctors has been reduced yet again.

I am not better off. My job went away, so I had to move back home while throwing all my new found money into a savings account so I can buy a house next year.

Trouble is, with the tax cuts expiring, it’s going to slow my savings growth because all of my interest will be taxed at 35% or 43.8%!!

My business in Minnesota cratered when Zero took office when clients cancelled projects. I have been back in Texas for a little over a year, and have recovered some of the losses since King Zero the Malignant was crowned. I fear that the next four years do not bode well due to Zero the Malignant’s hostility toward the petrochem industry on the Houston Ship Channel.

We’re slightly better off with money because the wife got a full time job when it became apparent we were slipping under with her working only part time. Now we’re bit ahead of the curve, but not really saving much. And with both of us working FT, the kids have to log more after-school babysitter time.

Drive two very used cars, but live in a good neighborhood.

Mine went away last year. Fortunately, my husband still has his. But I am NOT going back to work to pay for obamas screwups.

Yes, because I have busted my butt to pay down my debt and have slowly increased my income by taking on side jobs.

No 56.7%

Absolutely not. Food, clothing, online shipping fees, gas, home heating, and many other expenses have far outpaced our increases in income.
