Petraeus sex scandalKrauthammer: Petraeus Sex Scandal Will Drive Media Interest In Benghazi

On Friday’s “Special Report” on the Fox News Channel, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer said the resignation of CIA director David Petraeus was a regrettable situation that might ultimately help shed light on the deadly Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Embassy in Libya.

“We will unravel all the threads of this in time,” Krauthammer said. “We’re just in the first few hours, but I think it’s worth noting what we do know. This is the end of a career of a truly great American. He did something that hadn’t been done by a general since the Inchon landing in the Korean War, when MacArthur by a maneuver managed to save a war that was being lost and save South Korea.”

“No one had done anything like that until David Petraeus did that in 2007 and 2008 in Iraq,” Krauthammer continued. “That was a lost war. It was headed for chaos, civil war, bloodshed and unending trouble for us. And he pulled off a surge that rescued the war. What happened after in Iraq and what happened after in Korea are other stories, but that is undeniable. It is one of the great achievements, and he pulled it off. He distinguished himself in Afghanistan. And whatever happens and whatever we learn, this is a real tragedy.”

What does being Jewish have to do with anything?

Yeh, that could be it. I also think it’s that they can’t admit they’re wrong due the deadly sin of pride. And the ‘1st black president thing’ I’ll never get. MSM would have been decrying the fact that a black man became president before a female which is 50% of the population if he’d been a Republican.

I think most conservatives, by nature, cannot understand the concept of intellectual dishonesty or incuriousness. Follow the facts to the logical conclusion. That is what is so infuriating.

I think the Petreaus “affair” was well known in the “circles” for a LONG time. The White House knew and was saving it in case they needed to use it against their new CIA Director. A form of Control...

This is classic Clintonesque/Obamanesque White House strategy.

Is it a big deal? No, not in this case. But, it does raise some really important red flags. What would the implications have been if the “affair” had been with a hot, red headed Russian Spy? Someone, who like Broadwell, that had infiltrated the inner circles of the Military, in this case one of our top Generals, for six years?

Broadwell is no bimbo. She is an intelligent, well educated, Army professional. She has a very impressive resume.

This affair will be used as a distraction. Petreaus needs to step up to the plate and tell the truth. Will he? Who knows. He didn’t get where he is at by being stupid.

Yes, I am profiling and it is not fair but there is an element of truth in it. Sadly, the correlation with liberalism/socialism/leftism/secularism is quite high. It is estimated that 70% of the U.S. Jewish vote went to BHO. The only consistent conservative Jewish commentator I know is Mark Levin, and he is good as gold.

I recall reading somewhere that there is Charles Krauthamer, brilliant Conservative pundit that is 99% spot on....Then there is “evil” Charley...that pops out once in a while.

Maybe it's just “stupid” Charley ...

To understand the workings of American politics, you have to understand this fundamental law: Conservatives think liberals are stupid. Liberals think conservatives are evil. -- Charles Krauthammer

I suppose you blame the video for Benghazi.

No, but I do blame the rating-seeking MSM idiots and that slimy publicity-seeking 'pastor' for throwing gasoline on the fire.

His action had zero to do with Religion and the media coverage had nothing to do with the news.
