The education WILL have to be at the grass roots level.....which is there, now, with the Tea Party. We KNOW that the libs OWN the MSM AND the schools. The ‘founding’ is NOT being taught in schools. PERIOD. My kids have told me they were taught NOTHING about the Pilgrims. NOTHING. And, home schoolers.....don’t start bitching at me about yanking my kids out of school. We have to INFILTRATE the public schools. I have many great friends who do home school.........but we need to activate in the school boards of our local councils. I know many great teachers who teach ‘in secret’ the principles of our founding......with a wink and a nudge. I talk to them frequently, and they are frightened in my area.
Agree. I checked the numbers the other day and right now about 35 million kids are in K-8 public schools and about 4 million in private/home school. So that’s a lot, but obviously we have to do what you say and reform the public schools as well as other tactics.
Private schools are far more cost-efficient (2-3X from the data in Wisconsin). We need to tell local school boards that and make them drive change.
We need to volunteer and mentor kids outside of schoool.
Who is teaching kids today the American values we learned? Not some mamby-pampy wussified PC textbook taught by a unionized teacher. Not the church (because far to few attend church). Not the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4H, etc as they don’t reach enough.
And worst of all - not the family, too many of whom rely on text messaging to communicate and the DVR for information.
We need to nurture and encourage the teachers you describe and step up to help - it’s a battle for hearts and minds.
