Sir Paul McCartney has admitted that “it wasn’t that bad a thing” for John Lennon to leave the Beatles and said that Yoko Ono did not break up group.
In an interview with Sir David Frost for Al Jazeera, Sir Paul, 70, said the departure of John Lennon from the band in 1969 was expected by the whole group. …
Sir Paul also absolved Yoko Ono, Mr. Lennon’s then-wife of responsibility for the group breaking up. “She certainly didn’t break the group up,” he said. “The group was breaking up and I think she attracted John so much to another way of life that he then went on to, very successfully, add a sort of second part to his career, writing things like ‘Imagine’ and ‘Give Peace a Chance’. I don’t think he would have done that without Yoko.” …

A great band, and I still love their music, but frankly, I would like it if I never hear another detail about their lives ever again or see McCartney or Starr again.

I was a huge Beatles fan but I never enjoyed their solo music.

The late BEATLE’s teenage sweetheart, who became his secret wife for six years at the height of Beatlesmania in the 1960s, had returned home early from a holiday in Greece when she encountered her husband and Ono, dressed in bath towels, in her conservatory.
She recalls, “I was so devastated... I felt as though I didn’t even exist in this situation because they were so tightly knit. It was so obvious that they’d been up all night.
“I said the most stupid thing that I’ve ever said and I’ve regretted it ever since.
“I’d come back from holiday; I’d come from Greece to Rome and planned dinner in London - I thought that was a great idea. I came back with friends, got in, saw what was going on and I said, ‘Do you fancy going out? We’ve had breakfast in Greece and lunch in Rome, do you fancy coming out for dinner in London?’
“Yoko didn’t look at me and John said, ‘No thanks.’”
Cynthia was too sweet to deserve this. She also was the mother of his child. Did he care? No.
Seems no one remembers this of the ‘great’ John Lennon. I love his music, but from the guy who said ‘give peace a chance’ give me a break.
Paul's dead. This guy's an actor just doing his job.
He’s a pretty good impersonator. I’ll grant you that ;-)
