ABC has cancelled Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue. Both shows will not be receiving orders for additional episodes beyond their first thirteen.

Despite a lot of critical support for Last Resort, it struggled on Thursday nights on ABC. 666 Park Avenue meanwhile was the clear ratings weak link on ABC’s Sunday night lineup. Variety reports that both shows will at least air all thirteen episodes.

666 Park Avenue was slow at times, but I did like Terry O'quinn in it.

Hubby and I rather liked it. Oh well.

No. It wasn't subtle at all.

Actually, the address of the hotel was 999 Park Avenue. In the credits, an eerie shadow cast on the ornate building numbers inverts it to 666 (but Park Avenue remains readable).

Was 666 Park a subtle reference to Satan?

I think so, and Terry O'Quinn's character does do some deal making with people, who soon come to regret it. There is always a price to be paid for "help" with something that you desire.

“arrow” is a comic book hero dreamed up for progressive propaganda

google it. you’ll see

stopped watching at the 3rd episode when the ‘hero’ was going to attack the ‘evil business man’ to get a better grade smoke detector installed.
/facepalm

I’ve enjoyed ‘person of interest’... but they showed their liberal skirt last night vilifying the ‘evil energy exec’ while saving/showcasing the ‘married’ lesbian couple. they continue that bs, and I’ll be tuning out

I am glued to Revenge on Sunday nights and was hoping 666 which followed would be a great addition to the night but I hated the show from the beginning. Great cast but it bored me to tears.

Last Resort started going down hill pretty fast. You mentioned Lost, did you see in the last episode, in their preview for upcoming episodes, a curly long haired bearded fat guy like on... Lost!

Do we know how many episodes are left? I’ll try to watch it until the end. Why? I don’t know, I just like to finish things!

An early FR review on Last Resort noted the involvement of Andre Braugher in some other series that came to bad ends. Seems that FReeper was prescient...

I enjoyed “Smallville” even tho it was about as PC as it gets.

All the professionals such as Doctors, Scientists, Police Chiefs, Judges, The very best at anything, were nearly all either Black or female or Black female. It was so obvious that one wanted to ask them how a state which is 2% Black got all those impressive Blacks. Even Clark’s best friend, Pete Ross was changed to Black.

I just learned to overlook all that and enjoy the show. Finally they ran an episode which was nothing more or less than an advertisement for illegal aliens. I felt like I had sat through an hour long political ad and a very dishonest one at that.

Again, don’t mean to seem old fashion, but when I saw the sleazy previews, I had no interest, I get enough of that from the LSM. At the moment, I’ll stick with cop shows til they bring back real family shows. AND GOD FORBID KIDS MIGHT FIND OUT THERE REALLY WERE REAL COWBOYS AND PATRIOTS.

That would probably have been “Men of a Certain Age” with Ray Romano and Braugher, a really good show that made it for only 2 seasons on TNT, miss that one.

Last Resort was awful. I kept laughing at the technical goofs and the wholly terrible depiction of US Navy sailors. Submarine interiors the size of the Astrodome. Firing keys on "clips" so they could be easily stolen. An XO with super-human abilities. Chiefs and sailors acting like 10-year-old brats, insulting -- or worse -- officers to their faces. SEALS acting like terrorists on LSD. MIRVed ballistic missiles with just one warhead apiece, flying all the way to the target like cruise missiles, flames roaring out the back. Pakistani sailors climbing out of submerged SSKs and crawling up the sides of a ship, then appearing on deck completely dry. US warships with Star Trek level technology (nice thought, but, no). A US ship's CO letting the Chicoms set-up shop nearby. Time dialation allowing events that would take weeks to take just days or minutes (another gift from Star Trek?)

The writers went out of their way to ignore anyone with even a passing knowledge of the military. How's it feel now, dummies? Aside from the laughs, just a horrible show.

Amid the desolation of current TV, my wife and I are on our third viewing of the entire 10 season, 213-episode box set of “Stargate SG-1,” plus the two movies.

"I tried to watch the first episode and it was all at night and you could barely see anything. I hate that look."

I think you can expect to see a lot of that. When the X-Files had a lot of dark scenes it was edgy and contributed to the plot. The shadows became a character of their own.

Nowadays, I think shows just do it because with the advent of HD TV, the beautiful people don't want us peons to realize that they're not really all that beautiful.

I was given the first few seasons of “Smallville”. After viewing the episodes on one of the discs there will sometimes be a narrated episode or two with the directors or whatever they are called will comment as a voice over while showing the episode.

I noticed in one of those, one of the guys mentioned that Kristen Kreuk was one of the few actresses who could stand what they called “a slamma jamma closeup”. By that he meant that her face or only part of her face would fill the entire screen.

She is probably now 10-15 years older and her face will probably not stand a clear close up anymore.
