Something I liked with the Wake ND game it was only 38-0 after being 21-0 in the first quarter, these teams running up the score to get points in the polls are pathetic the neat thing about sports is the competition not the score..

Georgia seemed to find its defense in the (sorry ‘bout that) Florida game.

Easy to play good defense when your opponent hands you the ball.

The loss pisses me off. How many times does KSU get this chance to win it all? They blow a chance every 14 years. So now I have no idea what bowl they make and who they play.

And Ohio State may wind up as the only unbeaten when all is said and done.

Make a point to check this out:

Les Miles delivers a classic postgame presser. It's almost in the same league as the "I'm a Man!" speech from Mike Gundy.

That is hilarious!

They don't call him the Mad Hatter for nothing! :-) His weekly radio show from a bar in Baton Rouge is generally funny as well.

Johnny Football winning the Heisman as a red shirt freshman would be amazing.

Since I didn't get the aTm game in my area, I have to ask why he was trying to kick the extra point?

As a fellow Baylor grad, I agree with your entire post whole-heartedly!! The ags are ghastly. They could win every game from now until the end of the world and they would still be gross. I always notice that, even after weekends when U.T. loses and a&m wins, far more kids at the school where I teach wear Texas shirts than aggie shirts. Even the kids know that a losing Texas team is better than a winning aggie team. Baylor t-shirts have grown in popularity around here, thanks to Robert Griffin. We may catch up with the aggies in the T-shirt race yet, lol.

Great game tonight! Thanks for starting this thread, freedom1st! Congratulations on raising such a smart granddaughter!! ;)

Sic ‘em Bears!!!

Didn’t know about UT losing to Vandy. Holey-moley! That should be all for Dooley.

Those folks who wear t-shirts of a school they didn’t attend (or more likely can’t get into) are called “t-shirt fans.” Seriously, they are. I know you meant it well, but it’s generally considered kind of pathetic, although good for the economy.

FWIW, I cheered for Baylor last night. They played a terrific game, truly impressive.

But it’s a shame all those seats were empty.

Seriously?

Are you unaware that the opening lines of the University of Texas fight song are: “Texas fight! Texas fight! And it’s goodbye to A&M.”

Those two academically excellent research universities have been rivals for well over a century, and they celebrate it on Saturdays in the fall. Sit back and enjoy it.

Sumlin said Manzeil had been practicing for a couple of weeks and making them. He kicked some in high school. Goodness knows Bertolet hasn’t been accurate and had already missed at least one kick before Manziel tried.

And to inject a little fun into the game. Seriously, he said that. The game was essentially over when Manziel tried the extra point. He left the game after that play.

A lot of people don’t know that Manziel’s impressive stats would be much higher if Sumlin didn’t yank him shortly after the half in many of the games, to keep the score down. Which is just good sportsmanship.

The bench got a lot of good experience in the second half yesterday.

You do realize that A&M is still one of the most conservative universities in the nation and UT one of the most liberal. A&M was ranked 3rd in the nation for military academies this year, behind only West Point and the Naval Academy.

There have been tens of thousands of Aggies out there defending your freedom in uniform over the years ... my husband being one of them. He’s returning from his 13th deployment as I type this and may actually make it home for Thanksgiving this year.

You might want to think about that the next time throw all that venom at the maroon and white.

... Not to mention that almost every A&M ‘away’ game this season, we have received kudos for being the friendliest visitors most of the teams have ever hosted.

And Johnny Football is just fun to watch. What football fan out there cannot appreciate that talent?

Why all the anger? Yeesh.

Thank you for the comment about my granddaughter. She was accepted at UT and Baylor. She decided on Baylor because of the smaller student population and its Christian origins. She’s very happy she choose Baylor.

Your ‘real college’ comment is very telling.

Get over it. It is a sports thing. I live in one of the two communities adjacent to Ft. Hood (grew up here) so I do know a little something about the service of military members. I have spent my entire career serving the children of those who serve our country. Yes, I know, too, that U.T. is extremely liberal and a&m is conservative. Again, it’s a sports thing. I don’t care about U.T.’s politics when I am watching games. I think a&m’s traditions are beyond silly. The male cheerleaders who look and act like they’ve just escaped the asylum or are swabbing the deck or...whatever they seem to be doing, are strange, okay? And burying Lassie under Kyle Field and treating it like sacred ground? Also strange. Listen, everyone in the state of Texas has had to put up with the aggies’ obnoxious fans forever; it’s just sad that aggie fans can’t take what they dish out. Case in point: your need to make like Dryman and I are The Devil for ribbing the ags. You must not spend much time on sports threads. Our comments were quite tame, I can assure you.

I appreciate your husband’s service and am so glad he is home with you for Thanksgiving!
