Word For The Day, Monday, 11/19/12
;In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
ludic; adj
layful in an aimless way: the ludic behavior of kittens.
Etymology: 193540; < Latin lūd- (stem of lūdere to play) + -ic, perhaps via French ludique, learned formation from same components
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Here is my example with WFTD.
Everything is ludic until someone puts their eye out. But then sometimes ones husband takes one back, apparently.

No pushing at the door please!
took me two hours to get into work this AM because of some accident right after the 14th street bridge, so i am not feeling too #@$%% ludic : )
Look! Pastor Charles Henrickson once more got ludic with DUmmies!

"....just as soon as.......?????....maybe I won't.....well....so?
I’m not feeling very ludic this AM.. I have another dental appointment. Hopefully this AM is just taking impressions for a crown. BUT, they may start work buidling the core for a different crown. Not ludic at all.
Sounds ludicrous.
where? on dummies funnies? you need to post the link! A+++
just awful for you. Hope your mouth is healed in time for turkey! A+++
i seriously was worried i would pee my pants considering i had consumed a cup of coffee during the trip.
That’s why you should always keep an empty pop bottle in your car. ;-)

I feel sorry for him and their children. Bad enough that it happened, but the whole world is watching. It has to be awful for him.
LMAO You betcha. One husband and I think two children.
Oh, it will be healed. I have only ONE dental appointment this week (I’ve been averaging 2 per week for a month). And we are going to the Fox & Hounds for T’Giving with friends. My friend just had eye surgery so neither of us wants to cook. Fox & Hounds is a famous restaurant on Holy Hill that dates back to the mid 1800s. We shall be well fed.

My morning escape is taking Linda-the-Dog to the “Dog Park” for some ludic play with her own species.
Actually there’s not a very recent one; looks like he’s taken a breather. But Pastor Charles is very famous on FR for his ludic remarks at DUmmy pontificators.
my aim is not true.
i recall seeing something in the last week or two, some letter to a dear abby kind of thing, that people were speculating was from him? did you see it on twitter?
Ludic was invented by someone with dyslexia trying to write lucid, which I think was his kids names, Lew and Sid. It's possible...a little bit.
The ludic Luddite lead lions larking.....
The ludic Luddite lead lions larking.....
No, I didn’t. I spent last week starting my Christmas shopping and read a couple of books. Had a birthday party for my 70 yo Dem driver - hadn’t laughed that hard in awhile. He got roasted by his hunting buddies, all his stories are true. I always thought he exaggerated. LOL Still avoiding too much news. I have a ways to go before I recover.

Found the menu. Looks good. Trouble is that I’ll have to stop eating about noon on Wednesday because our reservations (made late) are for 10:30 AM! I’ll get ludic afterwards.
You should have a funnel in there somewhere, back with your jumper cables.
oh fun for her! xspups were being boarded at Petsmart while we were gone for the funeral and i paid for the extra playtime and treats for them while they were there. i think they’ve had a belly full of petsmart for awhile after being there a number of days over the last few weeks. Apparently there were two other cavaliers there also and the staff was very excited to have four cavs at once to interact with each other.
and a partridge in a pear tree. A++ ; )
he does a GREAT job with them!
A+++ it appears only one screw loose today instead of your usual half dozen ; )

Life just isn’t the same without Twinkies to go with the Old Blinder in the morn. sorry I’m just too broke up.....NO TWINKIES!!!! AAARRRGGG!!!!!!
I was a bit scared at first, because Linda was not socialized at all. It has just been her and me for months, and she is very protective.
But after a few little tests of dominance, she fits right in.
Aren’t “tests of dominance” something that happens on Festivus?
oh i think that’s great!
Along with “Airing of Grievances”, Yes. I believe so.
And, of course, I get to interact with the humans too.
:-)
Had a kiddo named “Serenity Forever” this weekend. Don’t they now her middle name should have been Now?
For many Catholics this may begin with recognizing how they have denied their faith in Our Lord and His Church by placing political party or selfish concerns ahead of the demands of our Catholic faith. For others, myself included to some extent, tempted by doubt and fear as we realize just how far our society has fallen, it may mean recognizing that we have placed too much hope in mere political processes or candidates and not enough hope in Jesus Christ and His Church. Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation
.Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God. Ps. 146
On voter fraud, our side is ludic
Laid back, Jamaican, Bermudic
We need a fighter
A scratcher, a biter
Whose approach would be more barracudic
Last weekend I went into the sacristy to speak to our new priest. I walked up to him and said...”Let me introduce myself, I must be the only one who loves your homilies. I went home after your first one and told my husband I was going to LOVE our new priest.” He looked confused and the deacon was grinning as he left the room. He said that Bishop Clark just met with him and he, Fr. Brian, was wrong. I just laughed and told him I thought he was just fine...that some of us were relieved to see Bishop Clark go. He was a bit speechless.
A+++ though i wallow in hopelessness right now, i imagine i would re-join the fight, behind such a leader.
keep reinforcing him! he’s going to need it, to do his job properly.
I was shocked that Bishop Clark still had this much power and influence over the diocese.
